I went to the rose bowl for the 3rd/4th place game between sweden and bulgaria in the 94 WC and it was a blast!!

I was sitting behing the goal that sweden scored all 4 of their goals. In the second half when the swedes where on my side of the field their comical goalie ravelli would entertain all the fans when the swede were on the bulgaria's side f the field. He would make fun of stoitchkov and his antics. It was hillarious!! They showed none of it on TV.

the last 13 minutes are not shown, a bad storm in vienna ruined the feed worldwide. two goals were scored to tie 2-2. then the feed came back for the last 2 mins where germany scored and then went out till the end of stoppage.

Turkey although the better team wasted too many chances. You must take those chances at this level. Its unforgiveable.

Germany on the other hand won because...simple they deserved to! They were clinical infront of goal looked like scoring 80% of the time that they went forward.

Well done to Turkiye for a great tournament and such a great team to watch play football. I hope Daei turns out to be TMs version of Fatih Terim

Turkey coach Fatih Terim has revealed he will probably step down after seeing his side lose to Germany in their Euro 2008 semi-final.



Philip Lahm's last-minute strike finally ended Turkey's dreams of going all way in Austria and Switzerland after thrilling semi-final clash in Basel.


Turkey could count themselves unfortunate to lose to Germany after dominating for most of the game only for Lahm to break their hearts.


Terim says he has decided to return to club management and that he will work outside Turkey.


"Most probably after speaking to the federation president and the players I will choose to say this is what I have done," said Terim.

"I had declared earlier I would not be working in Turkey. I am a man who keeps my promises. So I will most probably go back to a European country."

Terim was proud of his players after going so close to reaching the final.


"I congratulate Germany for their win and wish them success for final but I am proud of my players and think their will to play well, and the technical support, all came together and they were able to show the world what a good team they were," added Terim.

"I think we are leaving as the most colourful team of the tournament. We can say we were almost there, but that is part of football as well."

I was thinking EXACTLY that when the game ended. He actually said Footbal is a sport that 2 teams compete for 90 minutes and then at the end germany wins (the "always" part takes the funny out of it)

The Germans showed that they always win after 90 min and not the turks..(although they were getting close)
