Yup. He had his 2 match ban appeal rejected so had to sit this game out as well. Had Turkey reached the final, I am sure Volkan would have made the starting line up. Rustu was horrible - so too was Jens Lehmann.

Well to be honest, those Turkish attacks lacked the killer touch given they had almost their entire original starting line-up either injured or suspended and that really cost them. No surprise I have to admit.
The only surprise was how poor Germany was in all departments. They should have steam rolled past Turkey with their full squad (Frings injury early is no excuse given what Turkey had) so it was the exact opposite.
I tell you, Turkey going straight at Germany from the whistle really shook them up and they never really recovered. If Germany commit the same mistake in the final against Spain or Russia....then bye bye.

indeed germany played absolute crap, but half of the time the crappy team is the winner. they won so they won so thats all that matters.

there is no such thing as luck. the team which makes the ball go into the opponents goal more than it happens to them is the deserved winner all the time because they won. how can you be unlucky for not scoring? its your own fault.
