The russian premier league season has began 5 weeks ago, when all the other leagues will be finished we could have fun by following Russian league , Russian football is one the n'1 exemple of decreasing football, in the old days USSR had a pretty good team, today their team is still good and their league is among the 10th in Europe but its not like the old days.

Well they do have a few really solid teams. CSKA Moscow won the UEFA Cup back in 2005 - beating Sporting at their own home stadium in Lisbon - and now we have Zenit St. Petersburg in this year's UEFA Cup semis.

These teams have a lot of money at their disposal now, and they are slowing rising because of improving facilities, coaching, and players from around the world.

yeah the population of Russia is slowly decreasing, and the majority of the population is old. . .and when the USSR split they lost a large amount of players, if they hadn't they would have many players like hleb, shevchenko, kaladze, Iashvilli, Shatskikh, etc.
