Why is there always a New Zealand team in A-League

I was just curious, how come every season there is a New Zealand team in the Australian A-league. When i saw Waitakere United I was wondering why Wellington Pheonix dnt just participate in their own league, why do they have to play in the AUSTRALIAN league?

But it dsnt mean that u have 2 get teams from other countries. They should just put some Victoria Premier League teams in their or make new teams. It's not good 2 have teams from another country

MLS has a canadian team. I love that team. Theyre bad though.
