Dude you totally have my suppoort on this one. Whomever says American football is not the best sport ever probably never watched or played. I didn't get to play that much at CVHS, (Crescenta Valley High), but I loved making an open field tackle. Oh man the thrill of just getting a great hit is just something else man. It's just you vs your opponent mano a mano, and when you lay the wood, nothing feels better dude.

Can you just picture a football player taking a dive and grass roll to kill time? The next play they would take his knees out and end his career. Play acting, taking a dive, and faking injuries might fly in soccer but not in football.Originally posted by ShahHouman View Posti looooooove soccer but damn they fkn act too much and cry too much... american football NEVER has that, that's y i like it better in that respect, but i cant say one is better than the other, they're both great to me

I was RASIED loving soccer. I had no idea what american football was until I came to the US in 1992 and watched some usc games since I was with my uncle and he was a usc alum, then I watched the superbowl in our backyard, rose bowl b/w dallas and 49ers adn I was hooked!Originally posted by ShahHouman View Posti looooooove soccer but damn they fkn act too much and cry too much... american football NEVER has that, that's y i like it better in that respect, but i cant say one is better than the other, they're both great to me
I always wanted to go to ucla since I was in middle school in Iran so that coupled by the fact that the bruins were beating the trojans like every single year (8 years in row between 1991 and 1998) made a bruin fan!
With all this said I belive football is much much better than soccer----1990 TM, You will always have a special place in our hearts

i was gonna play football in highschool (i was gonna be an offensive/defensive linemen) and i was in practice for like 2 weeks and really earned a new respect for the game and its players, but i just didnt hav that aggressiveness needed to just throw urself into a tackle leading w/ ur head and shoulders and on one blocking drill i tripped on our T pads and fell down and the guy tripped on it and fell on my right arm only to fracture the head of my humerus and keep me out for the season.....so i said fk it,im playin soccer, a sport i kno lol
but man, i dunno if i can say one is better than the other, i hav a passion for both (despite my limited playing time w/ football), but recently we've been playing touch football on the weekends and it's soooooooooo fun, a great great time...
i love both sports, they're great!

That's why I played WR and CB at my Dvision 3 school Crescenta Valley. I was not big enough to play O or D line. I got some nice hits but it goes both ways in HS, and generallyh speaking you play offense and defense. I got my share of hard hits on me as well but tha's just apart of the game. Personally I liked playing defense better because you could hit people. On offense you always worry about the CB or a LB if you went in the middle like yours truly(very stupid thing to do).Originally posted by ShahHouman View Posti was gonna play football in highschool (i was gonna be an offensive/defensive linemen) and i was in practice for like 2 weeks and really earned a new respect for the game and its players, but i just didnt hav that aggressiveness needed to just throw urself into a tackle leading w/ ur head and shoulders and on one blocking drill i tripped on our T pads and fell down and the guy tripped on it and fell on my right arm only to fracture the head of my humerus and keep me out for the season.....so i said fk it,im playin soccer, a sport i kno lol

Persian Bruin many people told me the same story as you. They came to this country, watched a few football games, and all of a sudden they were hooked. My dad and uncle both knew NOTHING about football but they both fell in love with the sprot when they came here.
The thing is if you don't UNDERSTAND FOOTBALL I can see how you won't like the sport. Those who bash football generally speaking are either A) WOMEN or B) don't understand the rules of the game.
