It would be awesome if theyre in the same group. The Conf. Cup is no longer every 2 years, so despite winning the African Cup my Pharaohs won't be there unless they win it again at Ghana 2008 . I'd love to be in another Conf. Cup and be tested by the likes of Italy, Brazil, and the Euro 2008 winner.

Of course any person with a heart would want Iraq to win.

But anyone with knowledge would know that USA would win the match easily with the A team.

First of all Iraq's coach just retired. Secondly, USA has much better sustainability of it's squad, meaning that their training system is so wealthy that they could easily replace their stars by 2009.

There is no real world class talent in the US, but they would win even if they play horribly in that game, because that's just the way they are.

Mexico > USA.

This would've been a great match up during Saddam's times, since now the US would probably see the Iraqis as allies rather than enemies, but I'm sure Iraq's players would be very motivated to win. I just wonder if the Iraqi team would still be playing at the same level of football in 2 years' time.

Not to mentioin recent victories this year USA beat Mexico 2-0 in a friendly, and 2-1 in the Gold cup. For some reason USA just owns Mexico they have thier number.

Anyways the big question is now that Viera is out will Iraq still be able to compete in this high level? The other question is will Iraq be placed in the same group as USA? There is a good possibility that they will be placed in different groups due to the luck of the draw.

Although I'm an Iranian American I still would cheer for Iraq in that game. Americans in general don't give a dam about football except for like the Mexican Americans, and anyone who is a foreigner. The people of Iraq greatly care about their football and support the national team 100%. With all that has been going on in their country it's only FAIR FOR ME TO CHEER FOR IRAQ.
