lol i SO knew you would say this. well it was a nice freekick, but this one freekick doesnt change anything. he still hasnt showed enough to be one the list. maybe if he keeps it up for a couple of years.

This is ridiculous. The hread should be renamed the best free kick taker of the past 10-15 years. Were you guys around in 60's and 70's?

Anyways I voted for van Hooijdonk because he actually won a cup (UEFA cup 2002) only wiith his free kicks. The others all played in big teams or had other good skills.

Even restricting it to the past 10-15 years you should add Signori, Batistuta, Baggio and Chilaverte.

well of course 95% of us here dont know much about the 60s and those times... but there werent that many good freekick takers back then anyways. and sorry but i cant add every single good freekick taker in the world.

I'm very sad, cuz since Milad said they are not qualified, then it means that they can't score from freekick anymore

mikael nilsson is the greatest of all time at free kicks. His strike vs psv in the 93 champions league is pure class. So great is the strike that it is used in the champions league entrance video prior to matches.

Although I'm pretty sure Maradona could match him.

hes been drilling those fks for a while now...

but its not all about scoring from freekicks, what pirlo is indisputedly the best in the world at are those set pieces from like 40+ yards where he sends an inch perfect ball into the box to let his strikers finish. Its not all about scoring yourself.

you need to stop centering the world around your favorite team and players. guess what... i dont give a damn about italy to hate them. so know that you are alone in having these thoughts. thats your message my friend.

perhaps pirlo could have been on the list... it is arguable. i like his skill on freekicks, but i havent seen him score enough throughout his career. and totti has no place on this list, unless it was out of 100 choices which the forum does not allow.
