Ulsan Hyundai and Red Dimonds both got paid $7.5 mil for FIFA club World Cup participation so more than the actual Asian cup winners got I believe . Despite both sides failing to gain a single point

Thought Ulsan were one of the worst teams of the entire tournament- this Ulsan side looked a lot weaker than the one that beat Persepolis in the Asian cup finalOriginally posted by Nokhodi View Post

in terms of Asia Saudi clubs will continue to dominate I suspect , I can’t see even the Japanese teams catching up for a long time

No, I just meant that we are running out of interest with Team Melli on a global scale. After 50 years, this is the first time that I am realizing that my expectations for them (and mine) are completely ridiculous. If we haven't done Shiite with our Golden Generation, I have no hope for the next wave. My dreams of doing well at the WC are over, I'm expecting NOTHING moving forward.Originally posted by perspolis#1 View Post
If you are talking about me mentioning Saudi vs Mexico, I would hope the tactical genius we have in Ghalenoei is smart enough to watch these games given they are veey likely to be our opponents next year.

Just wait for it to happen and enjoy.Originally posted by Nokhodi View PostThank goodness we qualfiied directly.
AFC usual khar too khar dirty games is happening right now as AFC keeps changing their mind about how to host the playoff games because Iraq overtook Saudi in FIFA rankings.
I personally will be watching the games at all costs. I've relished watching these teams do or die for a long time.
The last time I felt this way was the 2010 World Cup AFC playoff qualifier between Saudi and Bahrain where Bahrain knocked them out only to lose to New Zealand.
This is what I imagine meth feels like.

Definitely could see it happening. Although UAE might be a better shot in general for going through the IC playoff if they got there.Originally posted by arash123 View PostKnowing the AFC I see these groups happening
A - Saudi, UAE, Indonesia
B - Qatar, Iraq, Oman (Insanely even group)
Saudi and Iraq qualify directly. Qatar vs UAE for crazy IC playoff berth game and I see Qatar edging them out tbh.
Qatar's team is like a worse version of our old team with guys like Khouki and Al Haydos way past their prime. Akram Afif and Almoez Ali are basically their Taremi and Azmoun.
I don't see Qatar getting past the African team or the South American team in the playoff. Ecuador and Senegal lit them up in the World Cup.

Won’t be easy for Saudi Arabia- Indonesia squad is packed full of Erdivise talent
Iraq are on the downward trajectory so I don’t expect much from them
uae Oman and Qatar is the group of life - 3 poor teams in poor form I don’t think either three of them deserve to be at a World CupPlease watch and Subscribe:

Qatar are defensively woeful- can’t see them keeping clean sheets here - they’ve had to call up abdulkarim and al hydoss their squad is aging and they’ve had some dismal results in qualification - UAE will qualify imo they seem to have enough in the tankOriginally posted by perspolis#1 View Post
