Yes, we all want him to play top-tier football and make lots of money, but sometimes it's best to opt for the latter.
He will still be able to go to a gulf leauge when he is 35 and cash in for 2-3 years.

He could probably buy most of bushehr with the money saudies are offering. The rumor is that its 23 Million + salary .

Mehdi has played for arab team (al qarafa) before so this is not something new to him.

Also Al hilal got mossa marega from Porto before so don't be surprised if this deal goes thro.

He may get injured by then. He may not get the offer then. A meteor can hit him between now and then........ He plays for money. He needs to make the best decision for his own life.

I want to see this happen just to see the Iranian football fanbase have a complete meltdown.

The arguments and insults are going to be 2022 World Cup level toxic.

dont see him taking it tbh, he had his time in arab leagues making good money.

Since going to europe he has looked and played like a man on a mission to get an opportunity at a top club in a top league.

Will the opportunity at a top club will ever come, other than loose interests and rumors?

The issue is a club like Al-Hilal will offer a way higher transfer fee than any European Club. Outside the Premiership and a few Saudi clubs, no one wants to spend money on big transfers anymore.

We will see. No need to beat ourselves up in the meantime, especially as he is playing great football. Just enjoy and be grateful for that!

I think this is the first summer that an interested party could get him at a reasonable price. Porto know its their last chance to sell, as the article mentions something around low 20s should be enough. His profile, age, etc suits both milan clubs.

at peak of his form and fitness, about 20mil was the most better clubs in EU were willing put forth for his services, hence why he is still kicking it in Porto..!! he just isnt as marketable in Europe elite leagues as many here think/assume he is ..!
we can't forget that he is Eyeranian afterall and his Playing Profile/style of play (although very intelligent and affective) is Far from an exciting and attractive one enough to excite such club's fanbases to drop serious do$h on..!
i think by now, after repeated failure for an upgraded club move from porto, he is well aware of the above as well...!
hence if the offer is lucrative enough he will take it and run off quickly ....!!
tbh wouldnt surprise me if Saudis as a gesture of publicizing the changing political tides make an ab$ence, CantRefuse offer in order to lure in the supposed Best iranian footballer this summer..??

Or all these rumors are just exaggerated bs brewed by his agent in order to achieve the best next move in europe or a much more lucrative extension from Porto..!!

I guess we are the only nationality with such threat.. Sorry so much offers from arab pg countries for our best players

He already did his time in Qatar for the cash, don't see him taking this one

I wouldn't fault him for taking it. That is a lot of money for a few easy seasons.

But I doubt this is a real offer.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

I've thought alot about if this is the moment we will see a regular starter for a world class and top club i Europe. Ive waited for 1-2 years for this move to happen after seeing Luiz Diaz khoreh loser going to Liverpool. Good members in here said from the start and get go that this will never happen due to age and nationality. I was really wrong on this one and admit that I was overtly optimistic!!

Since I reconsidered I've started to remember how it was during 90s and early 00s when we would jump up and down out of joy seeing ONE player getting some minutes in champions league. This would occasionally happen less than once a season. Not to mention 2010ish which were the dark days of pro football on club stage for iranians. Maximum 1 player in Europe at the time. Maybe 1-2 sometimes.

Nowadays we have become quite used to seeing fixed regulars and starters at EL and CL competitions year in and year out. Nothing out of the ordinary nowadays.

Maybe it is the next generation that will make the jump to the really really big clubs? Right now I'll be happy if he stays in Porto and really solidify his legendary status for this club. Someone Portugese fans will talk about for 30-40 years to come. And this he can do and it is all in his own hands! Two more seasons is probably enough with these kind of performances to break all sorts of records!

Next generation has a lot of work to do. Besides Allahyar, we are really lacking in that type of player.
