If Slot was smart, he would use this opportunity to finally convert AJ to a CM/CAM, where he truly belongs at this stage of his career.

      Any word on Alireza?

Feyenoord posted a video of their players arriving for training, and most were there, but no Alireza. He also wasn't a part of the Kit release promotional videos/pics.

iirc, we was injured in CAFA, but didn't seem too terrible.

They have a friendly match this Saturday.

Eredivisie is now the 5th best league in Europe. It surpassed the French league.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

I think they will go back to 6 next season (or the one after). Their coefficient went high due to the near cinderella run by Ajax a few seasons back.

Did ARJ feature in the friendly match today?

Unlikely. He’s in Rasht right now.

He's joined Feyenoord training this morning.

Sidenote: Looks like Feyenoord is looking for a starting winger. Danjuma is the main target at the moment.

Safe to say, once again it seems like Alireza is not going to be one of the primary wingers.
Last season he had the least amount of minutes among all winger (except Walemark who was injured for half of the season).

His Brighton spell, first season at Feyenoord and WC22 was a worlwide call to not get him.

Except he do wonderful things in CL (which wasn't enough for Moharami and Taremi so far), I don't see getting interest from anything than Dutch league or small teams.
His last season was better but still not that impressive overall

Ultimately he had a purple patch for a few years in the DUTCH league and was able to maximise it to the max. He's never been the player we've hyped him to be. A professional mediocre player at best.

He had a total of 5 goals & 7 assists last season, which roughly comes out to be 1 goal contribution per 90 minutes.

Feyenoord’s most efficient winger, in spite of competition, and winning the league.

He also scored key goals against teams like AZ & PSV. From his desolate situation in Brighton, he’s come a long way.

This is his season to hit at least 10 assists or goals.

this.... been saying that about him since day 1 in europe, (except that i wouldnt say he is mediocre.... more like Average ..!)

i think after Ansarifard, he is certainly the next most Overrated iranian attacker in recent history of TM..!!

He is just an inconsistent Average pedigree but still very much a Professional acting footballer..!

as such he shines best against avg-tokhmy opponents and the higher the caliber of the opponent he plays against or the bigger the stage, the more the probability of him either choking or at best underperforming..!!

And how many average/mediocre games, even in the one he scored/assisted

I love the guy, but according to advanced stats, he was the weakest winger on the team last season.

Of course numbers alone don't tell the whole story, but Alireza would be lucky to get 1000 minutes across all competition this season for Feyenoord, let a lone hit ten goals or assist.

I think interpreting his situation at Feyenoord is whether you want to look at the glass half empty or half full.

Coming from Brighton, I look at it as half full, based on his efficient production, and progression from last year.

This season will prove just much he can recapture his previous quality in the Dutch league. Or, he will regress…
