Fifth Islamic Solidarity Games "Konya 2022"From 09 to 18 August 2022, athletes from 57 countries are exhibiting fraternity, solidarity, and friendship through sports.

Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF)





Draws for team sports will take place on July 3rd.

According to IFF acting president Majedi and U23 Coach Mahdavikia, Iran will Participate with U21 in these games.

Last week Mahdavi kia before leaving Iran mentioned decision to attend with U21 team and yesterday Majidi confirm this decision.

Both Majidi and Mahdavi kia also mentioned Mahdavi kia's contract will end by September and no mention of any extension.
IFF TC has invited Mkia to for U21 AFC game report but very doubtful he will come back until next training camp.

Mahdavi Kia with U21 will not win games unless he want getting experienced in defeats.
If he fail without at least with strong performance it will make it easy for IFF to replace him

Mahdavi Kia dilemma

He has committed to enter these game with U21 player and just as before he is not in Iran, He only stayed one day upon return from Tashkent.
Games will start on August 9 and he need to present his plan for preparation, selection or training games at least by mid-July with at least 2 weeks of training/
During June-July players are resting and some of them busy with transfer season and their training with their clubs will begin second week of July to first week of August .

Once again Mahdavi Kia had to deal with clubs releasing their players while at preseason training and he will have players who are mostly physically not at the best shape .

Mahdavi Kia will face stronger teams than AFC games and need to be prepared.
Let's hope he can do it.

U23 Team Manager Faraz Fatemi:

We will attend with the same U21 toget experience.
Most countries will attend with their U23 but we are aiming for Olympic Qualification.
* Training camp start July 23 for 10 days before going to Turkieh on August 2.

با همین تیم در بازی های اسلامی حاضر می شویم
اولین اردویی که داریم به مدت ۱۰ روز در اوایل مرداد است.از آن طرف عازم مسابقات کشورهای اسلامی در قونیه ترکیه می شویم که اکثر تیم ها با زیر ۲۳ سال می آیند ولی ما در آن تورنمنت هم با زیر ۲۱ سال می رویم. این بچه ها هرچه بیشتر در بازی های دوستانه و تورنمنت ها شرکت کنند با تجربه تر می شوند و تیم مان به انسجام می رسد که دیگر دچار اشتباهات فردی که در بازی های آسیایی شاهدش بودیم نشویم .

*-Format:
All players participating in the preliminary and final competitions of the Tournament shall be born on or after 1 January 1998

Teams will be divided into two (2) groups and each group will contain four (4) teams.
Group games are on August 8, 10, 12

The group winners and runners-up will be cross-matched in the quarter-finals. (A1-B2/ A2-B1) The winners will compete for gold and the losers will compete for bronze medals.
Semi final on August 14 and Final on Aug 16.



This games are for U24 players and teams can have 3 older than U24 players.

Mahdavi Kia 's U21 has little chance against older more experience teams. U21 will play 3 games in 5 days that will be another challenge.
