From Tehran Times
Iran football league among lowest scoring leagues
January 1, 2023 - 15:2
TEHRAN – Iran Professional League (IPL) is among the lowest average goals per game.
The results of the IPL Matchday 14 showed that 10 goals were scored with an average of 1.25 goals per match.
Somewhat surprisingly, games in some top leagues have been averaging three goals per 90 minutes.
A total of 198 goals have been scored in 111 matches so far which means 1.78 goals per contest have been scored.
Tractor forward Mohammad Abbaszadeh and former Persepolis striker Jurgen Locadia have scored six goals both in 14 matches and sit top of the goalscorers table. It means they have scored 0.42 goal per game. That’s a very chaotic stat.
IPL leaders Persepolis have scored 15 goals in 14 matches and that’s disastrous because they have scored 1.07 goals per game.
English Premier League (EPL) leaders Arsenal have scored 40 goals in 16 matches; 2.5 goals per match.
Barcelona have scored 34 goals in 15 matches (2.26) and Bayern Munich scored 49 goals in 15 matches (3.26).
The comparison shows that IPL is among the world’s lowest scoring leagues this season.

sina assadbeigi scored a screamer. I guess he is playing regularly now after transfer from zob ahan. 25 which is pretty young for iranian CM standards, seems mobile and good physique, although admittedly havent seen enough of him for real opinion.
regular PP watchers what do you think of him? somebody with higher ceiling for international football like ebrahimi or amiri or another useless kamyabinia type?

25 years old, only played in IPL is pretty old imo. We should only consider under 22 years old options (that IPL doesn't play anyways lol)Originally posted by inarsenewetrust View Post

Not sure what makes you say that. Probably just frustration from bad TM situation, lack of talent in PGPL? Weird to take it out on an unrelated youth academy. These things are not instant coffee if thats what you are looking for. Now these are only two in europe but many guys across TM youth sides. OFC, most have not even reached eligible age to transfer to europe (18).Originally posted by PSGman#19 View PostBtw what happened to Kia academy? The only hope from them are the 2 guys in Poland?
From those that have Ghorbani (previously trialled at bayern and hamburg), Pilali, Eslamtalab are the most advanced and all part of the u19 CAFA winning side. For these to guys to get bigger transfers that may make them more feasible candidates for TM in upcoming years we really need to get to a u20 world cup. This is where major scouting will happen, how allahyar, delfi, hosseinzadeh, shariati, shekari, ezatolahi, etc all got their first looks.
Many other strong talents in lower age groups.
Ehsan balooch is one standout in u15.
Long path to go for talents like him but they are doing things the right way and it will pay off.
