I dont think Niazmand situation is really similar to others...He fought well last season, this season he did good in preseason but club+him expected Samuel to leave. His big transfer doesnt seem to have materialized, so Payam needs to go somewhere and play. I was hoping that could have been another loan within portugal but sepahan isnt bad option with morais either, he is guaranteed fix spot.

Outfield players can work their way in off the bench and get minutes as sub, rotation, later in season, etc. For GK, especially those whose clubs have no euro competition, they are stuck playing 3-4 low level cup games a year at max. Thats not enough.

Hoorad Jan, Niazmand is a very talented and capable goalie. He’s also very intelligent and can communicate well. However he is a goalie and it takes along time for them to become starters especially if they’re starting out in Europe from Asia.

Habsi who was Asia’s best goalie export ever, and who I think was a world class goalie wasted away on the bench for years in Norway and England before he got a chance - and even then they would bench him quickly simply because he wasn’t English or European.

My point being that he needed to stick it out in Europe. If he wants the 2nd or 3rd spot in TM, I understand, but long term he would have been better off staying in Europe. Maybe he wouldn’t make the World Cup squad this round, but he would eventually gain a starter spot in Europe and get noticed in Iran.

Even if he has the best season in Iran before the world Cup, Beiranvand will be the probable starter.
