The federation really saved Skocic's ass. They've messed up so much that players focus is on them rather than the fact that two years into Skocic being in charge, the boys still look disorganized. I'm not sure how one or two extra friendlies would help something that has been a problem for 20 or so matches.

Same weaknesses since day one. With little to no progress.

Also Sardar is complaining about the conditions in Qatar, conditions which Tot defended on the Gol Bezan interview. Isn't the coaching team also to be blamed for not speaking out against the Qatar conditions? And only doing so when it's convenient for them to use it as an excuse for their loss?

Damesh garm. Let the anti skocic crowd bash azmoun now. He basically said Skocic understands football and I have no issues with his tactics. Trust his results.

It doesnt make sense. First they say, we went to qatar because everything there is great and the players can train in peace. The players themselves are saying its shit and they preferred to stay at PEC. Then skocic says conditions were shit. He CHOSE to take the team to doha

It makes perfect sense. They most likely received the worst & cheapest traveling options, worst & cheapest hotel and worst training pitch in the country. Skocic didn’t expect that. He expected world class quality because that’s what you expect in Qatar.
He can’t come out and say these things because it would cost him his job.

Even Azmoun just said that Skocic isn’t the problem, but that it’s the federation.

Don’t expect anything from Iran at the World Cup. Just be happy that they are there. That’s already a huge achievement and somewhat of a miracle. The rest is a bonus.

he was probably tricked thinking he would get the luxury pitch and hotel etc... lol

Apparantly he was given economy class ticket too. Thats just dis-respectful all the way.

Thats the issue. Sko's "thinking" is not enough. He doesnt do his background check, he is not meticulous enough, he leaves things up to chance and hoping the federation does him a solid (When the hell has that ever happened) and when everything goes to shit he acts like his hands are tied.

He is not proactive enough when it comes to on and off the pitch decisions. How difficult would it be to check the weather before heading out to qatar, or personally determine the quality of the pitches they would be training on?

That would be minimum 200 000-300 000 USD more in salary. Everything has a premium.

It’s pretty obvious they picked Doha because it was the only way they get a team to stop in for a friendly as Doha is a regional hub. There would be no friendlies in Tehran.

                        This is all federation incompetence.

Yes, and Qatar was gracious enough to host (and has done the same in the past). While the hot weather was foreseeable and out of the control of anyone, Skocic in his infinite wisdom complains about the pitch. Way to curry favors from Qatar for the next camp/friendly session genius!

Lastly, he preferred to stay in hot Qatar, with supposedly bad fields, and not travel to Uruguay to play against a tougher opponent in better weather/pitch.

                          None of this makes sense.

They (tm players and staff) complained about the first location. Qataris provided another location and that’s where TM went.

As it was mentioned by the players, they could have trained in Tehran and flown in a couple days before the match like the Algerian side did

That is the crux of the matter. Skocic is an inexperienced NT coach. Queiroz was a highly experienced NT coach. Skocic has Croatian contacts. CQ has many more international contacts. CQ has gone into multiple major tournaments. Skocic zip. CQ has dealt with multiple football federations. Skocic one.

CQ demands and earns 10-20 times Skocic.

We should have one demand from Skocic... preparing TM for the coming games. We can't ask him to direct/manhandle the federation, scout camps and facilities, set up friendlies etc.
