Oh. Only the coach was the same. Very small and insignificant detail.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View PostLol cause you are comparing two separate matches that only have 1 thing in common...a coach. Different lineup. Different circumstances (already qualified vs not)' Different host. Even CQ or any other coach didn't win all their matches. Forest for the trees buddy. It's like arguing with a wall.

You have time and again shown a very liberal relationship to evidence. You comfortably discard it or demand highest standards when you review other people's arguments, yet you yourself either provide no evidence whatsoever for your arguments (e.g. Skocic turning down NZ because he wants better opponents) or conveniently distort and skew evidence (e.g. CQ's friendlies). Not sure what you are trying to achieve, but whatever it is, you ain't achieving it.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View PostBecause your comparisons are akin to apples and oranges. If CQ had the same lineup as Skocic and similar circumstances what do you think the outcome would be?
BTW 1996 Mayeli Kohan beat South Korea 6-2 in AC. So by your logic Mayeli Kohan is a better coach than CQ??? No one in the right mind would say that because ignoring circumstances and factors of the head 2 head would be illogical. So wanna discuss mental acrobatics still?
As the Americans say "denial" is not just a river in Egypt.

Anyways we also have Iran Syria 2-2...many other examples. Point is apples and oranges. You are missing the forest for trees mate.

Maybe for the same reason we drew them 0-0 in Tehran in 2017? Just a guess...no clue. Again apples and oranges.Originally posted by mehdi13 View PostAnd why couldn’t he win in Tehran with a full lineup? I forget the excuse for that one…

Again, why would you engage in mental acrobatics by mentioning other Asian teams when we actually have a much better comparison at hand, i.e TM's performance against South Korea under CQ? Skocic did not manage to win against South Korea twice, now go back and check CQ's performance against other Asian powerhouses.

And don't say Japan...the same Japan that lost to Oman and KSA and drew Vietnam...any team with 6-7 regulars out would struggle.

So clueless his fans must be. Egypte has 7 African cups and 3 runner ups. Once again CQ has done nothing out of the ordinary with Africa's most successful team.Originally posted by Taz View PostIt's true, many people were voting for Mohamed Qotb Abou Gabal Ali over frauds like Messi and Ronaldo for Ballon D'or during his superb spells at Smouha Sporting Club. And to think CQ could only get them to the final and losing it against a bunch of African nobodies in Senegal.

First of all, is it not permitted to change views based on a coach's performance? Are you not able to look in hindsight and register information? 60% in Asia with Iran, did not win any titles, did not advance in world cup groups having been given two opportunities and 8 years at the helm with total control and a blank cheque. Second, I did not change my views his report card came in. that is how it is. Had a even gone to an Asian cup final (not even winning it), or had he advanced from the group in a world cup you will not be seeing me criticizing his record. In fact I would be a fan and claim him as one of the best but sadly it all fell apart for him when it mattered most. Third, some less intelligent members like to pick and collect some positive comments I made about CQ but completely ignore the negative ones made around the same time.Originally posted by Lorestani View PostThe only day-and-night difference I can spot here is your changing views on CQ.

You mention second-rated teams, but conveniently omit that which counts considering we are *checks notes* preparing for a World Cup.
