These games have shown that having a strong defence and playing on the counter, making them work to break you down is how you can get a result from England. So like how CQ set up our teams in 2014 and 2018.

Please, just explain to me, how with our weaknesses at LB,RB, and CM we should not adopt the same system as them (343/541)... and instead insist on 442 that makes our biggest weaknesses the most obvious

If someone at IFF is reading this, they should analyze what Hungary is doing and try to implement that for TM vs England at the WC.

I'm actually not worried about playing in the middle against England. We know enough to slow the game down and avoid being overrun esp if Ghoddos plays.

Our wings are the problem though. Englands wings are strong and we are weak with teams that know how to overlap

thats why you play with 3 CBs and LWB (Amiri) and RWB (Moharrami, ARJ, Hardani). This means in wide areas no 1 player is responsible for covering england's winger and wingbacks. Plus we have 3-4 very mobile CBs who are good on the ball.

I was meant to get tickets for this game - stadium is only about 30 mins drive away from where I live but thought better of if. Correct choice now 😃

England got assfucked at their home turf against Hungary. We should try to play Hungary in a friendly, they are a really decent side at the moment. They managed to draw Germany and France, win against England twice. But i doubt this game will happen unfortunately, too much politics these days

I agree. That system still depends on 3 midfielders who can battle it out and push the ball up. Ezatolahi, Ghoddos, and Ebrahimi can battle and hopefully work on pushing up.

The problem is Skocic is scared of the IPL fanboy Esteghlal and Persepolis fans.

As a Persepolis fan with full love for our players, Nourollahi ans Sarlak should never be on Team Melli in the World cup. It should be illegal to blow the starting whistle with them in the Starting XI

There are 3 positions, 4 players. Ghoddos must play every game. Ezatolahi + Ebrahimi are the best combo at the base. Mehdipour is a good rotational option, in case of injury, fatigue, or off bench, but not as defensive as the first 2. Nobody else is even relevant unless Ali Karimi plays regular professional football in turkey before WC.

They're an excellent team. People are really underestimating them.
I am telling you all, we are in the real group of death, not these other groups that people kill themselves over because players can pull of a 360 nutmeg followed by a rainbow kick.

They play a quick one or two touch game and are physically stronger than the English players.
