If England beat both usa and wales goal differentials won’t matter as neither wales or US can get to 4 pts

Considering the Goal difference we need to win the next two matches.

The shellshocked team I saw play today is not capable of that.

Realistically the best we can do is finish 3rd in the group

If Iran Win against Wales and USA Draw or lost against England

The differential goal is not important

If Iran Draw Wales, Iran need 100% win against USA

Then it means one of them tied us and its 4 prs for each

True. England can also draw against US, Iran just needs to beat Wales. And a draw against US is ok. You're correct.

This scenario is very difficult because need WALES win against ENGLAND plus Iran win against Wales and Draw against USA

                OR
IRAN draw against Wales and win against USA plus USA win against ENGLAND.

Not if England beat both of them which is likely

                    1. England: 6 pts
                    2. Iran: 3 pts
                    3. US and Wales: 1 pt

So, unless Wales beats England in their last match, Iran could go through with a tie against the US. Actually to think of it, Iran would own the head to head against Wales. So even if Wales beats England and Iran ties US, a point should be enough for Iran because they have the head to head against Wales. So, this tie was beyond important for Iran as it opens up paths to go through with just one win and one tie.
Provided CQ fields a better starting line up. Iran needs a more attack-minded unit, with a performance like what we saw against Argentina and Spain (second half) and Portugal. Players also need to shed their fear and play with more intensity and determination. There's really not much to lose, as expectations are not too high at this point. Beating both Wales and the U.S. are challenging but doable, even though the commentators on Telemundo and Fox (Lalas et al) see Iran finishing last as an inevitablity. Team Melli needs to regroup and prove them wrong. let that partly be their motivation.

What's even better is the amount of cautions the US had in this game; hopefully, some of these will be on second yellows after the England game.

Sometimes, a big loss can be a really good thing; it kicks the fear out of you and let's you play more open and free the next few matches.

McKennie and Musah were both subbed out with injuries? Anyone see the severity?

Tough calls for the next game.

Quieroz got it very wrong today.

Wales really sits back and defends. We should be able to make some chances and I hope we can score them.
