I actually saw it another way: that the enshrined powerhouses cake-walking through the group stage is a fallacy. We saw it with Belgium against Netherlands, we saw it with France against Denmark, and we saw it with England against Hungry.

Obviously we're not at the level of these other euro teams, but with the right training, preparation, and attitude, any opponent can be defeated or held to a stalemate.

While you are correct about anything being possible in football with the right preparation, I wouldn’t take these recent Nations League results too seriously. I think De Bruyne in the press conference before their match basically said that the tournament is a bunch of friendlies that mean nothing and that he’d rather be on vacation at the end of a long season.
