When people shit on CQ and his Iranian team, even Dragon's Iran team, they look past our undefeated streaks and results under both managers. Despite all of our flaws and weaknesses. We don't concede more than 2 goals even 1. The last loss where we conceded 2+ goals was vs. Japan in 2019. And that was shocking.

Iran definitely won't be a cake walk. And if Iran take a point from England, or worse win (for the others), it will get even harder for USA and the other team. Because we are known for playing more comfortably in our 2nd match after gaining 1 or 3 points in the 1st match. In 2014, we took a point Nigeria and in 2018 we took 3 from Morocco. And we played very composed and comfortably against Argentina and Spain.

We are bringing arguably our best squad to the WC. It's also our 3rd consecutive (is the 3rd time the charm?) and it's in our backyard (Asia). We've never qualified out of our group and we'll be very motivated to do so.

There are no good or bad teams in the WC. If we put prime chokers Saudi Arabia aside, there is NO easy game in the world cup. People need to realise this.
All national teams are out there to kill each other. Look at players scoring against supposedly inferior teams and how they celebrate? How the margins are so small?

CQ said this: You have to respect everyone. The qualifiers and nations league logic is not there.

All advantage favours Wales it appears. Very short break between match 1 and 2.

Interesting observation: although Iran (36.69) has slightly lower odds to reach the round of 16 than Poland (40.51) and South Korea (39.32),

Iran has higher odds (17.20) to reach the quarter final than Poland (9,86) and South Korea (9.79)!

Also Canada and Senegal have similar round of 16 odds, but lower quarter final odds than Iran.

Even some teams such as Mexico which have significantly higher round of 16 odds than Iran, have lower quarter final odds.

That's the nice thing about group A if Iran makes it out of group B!

The US have a serious goalkeeper problem, maybe a level worse than ours right now. Zach steffen with a horrible giveaway goal to Liverpool in the FA Cup final today. American goalkeepers are usually excellent shot stoppers but not as good with their feet. We need to make sure that the press is on, looking at Taremi and Azmoun.

I have said this before and say it again.

Although the entire Iranian football community is fixated at the moment on arranging friendlies as the key for preparing the team, I say our number one priority must be player fitness! Friendlies come second!

That is as simple as designing a fitness program under a fitness specialist from Europe or North America for each and every one of our call ups or potentials and ensuring every player understands achieving target fitness as the passing criteria for inclusion in the team.

This does not require millions and millions of dollars that the federation claims it doesn't have and or requiring sanctions to be lifted.

In France we had good fitness, in Brazil and Russia we had better (not great but better) fitness but we sucked under Branko in Germany!!

Fitness for Iran team in Qatar is nine tenth of the law, specially against the teams that we will be playing!

I don't understand why the coaching staff are not talking about fitness at all. We need CQ style focus and attention to details here!
