I can’t believe people would rather watch us lose 2-0 or 3-1 in the World Cup with no chance in hell of winning instead of getting back a coach with “an old school mentality” who actually gave all of us hope of winning against bigger teams. Can any of you realistically say we’re offensively better than any team in the World Cup?

Didn't we lose 3-0 to Japan with the said coach? Didn't we lose to Bosnia 3-1 with the same coach? Did we advance? did we win any games in 6 scoring a goal? The delusion is real. Insanity....

People don’t realize that players like JB, azmoun, taremi are like Ronaldo, Messi, neymar compared to the Arab league defenders they faced. Just wait until they face some elite European or South American team, you think they will have same 1 on 1 success as they’ve had? No chance. There’s a reason CQ played defensive, it’s not like we can play an open game and not get exposed. Our midfield is not good enough

To elevate CQ's record and achievements you have to bring down TM's level. Note to self, we have played these type of teams before. the results are there for everyone to see. Nothing extraordinary here.

This is Cq's main contribution to our football. We have never been thrashed by any team except under cq himself yet he is the savior of our football for making us realize we have no business playing against Japan and Korea and must park the bus and hope for an error on the other side. This is why he was and still is the most toxic coach we have ever had.

I love CQ, but I don’t think he’s coming back. At least not now or anytime soon. They still owe him money, no?
I don’t dislike Skocic either. He’s done a lot and came through with his staff and of course our players. He got us out of a ditch Juan Perron put us is. He’s also proven to be a very good coach coming back into the 2nd half. I’m glad he’s been our coach so far.
However, I also think there are flaws with how our our central midfield connects to our back 4. I get it, we were missing a few key players, we had qualified to the WC already and players were injured/exhausted yada yada yada.. But it’s a scary thought if god forbid Sardar Mehdi AJ Sadegh and co. missed the WC (zaboonam laal). There needs to be a solid B team.
We accept the positives but we have to also be vaghebeen realistic. Our attack is doing great in Asia. But with this defense we will struggle against big teams at the WC.
If Skocic makes the necessary changes in defense and midfield, I’ll support him even more.

Completely agree with you that we need 11 good substitutes that understand how our main team plays and can step in for any of the main players without a noticeable difference in the team. They all need to know how we play and be coordinated with the players around them. Building up from the back and breaking a press needs a lot coordination and understanding amongst the players. Skocic needs to address these issues and give our B-team some experience too.


In his defense, he has had little time to coordinate the players and give them experience as most games have been must win games. Future camps and friendlies will be critical to address these issues.

Countries like Algeria, Costa Rica, S. Korea, Japan, Australia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Ghana, USA, Mexico have all advanced to the knockout stage since 2006. Why not us?

Believe in order to achieve. I think CQs strategy and tactics have set us back in the self belief department.

I didn’t bring up Jahanbakhsh and to be honest CQ instilled the “one unit not one player” mentality in TM. If we’re all being honest with ourselves we all know that the only way we’re going to stay in the game against teams in the WC is if our star players play the game of their lives to make up for the lack of skill and tactics our team have. We played as a unit under CQ, we now rely on individual talent.

With all due respect, I have to say "Big No". With CQ we will kill all of our offensive chances. Look at Salah and Egypt, or Colombian team with all their stars. CQ is only for defending against stronger teams to get a draw and nothing else.
