Bielsa is now available - I don't think he would necessarily fit Iran's football as his free-flowing attacking style might give us both amazing and devastating results. Still I would love to see him somewhere good and if Iran ever sign him it would at least be exciting to watch.

But we need a pragmatic coach who recognises the pool of players in and behind central midfielder are not of the same calibre as the countries we are competing against, and adjusts the play accordingly.

The kind of coach who can get 0-1, 0-1, 1-1 etc... against recent euro or world champions and show a good account to make iranians proud, not one which loses 8-0....

Bielsa is a great football guy and a huge philosopher but he is not result driven like many others. He also needs a lot of time to get the best out of his players. Also he comes from money and the moment he doesn’t like something he leaves. He wouldn’t last in Iran, nor would he get us to the round of 16.
