Never! You win the asian no one cares, you reach the final four in the WC anyone will renember.

the w.c.....when teams enter the tournements the expectation is what sets the tone for importence of the mattr.

It is crucial that we get the best results in these last three games as we need to continue to win to have a legitimate shot at being in pot 2 for the draw. Therefore these last 3 games are anything but meaningless. I hope Skocic doesn't use these games to experiment with new lineups or players.

I think we should play Korea full-power and try to win. Against UAE we could use a mixture of A and B-Squad. And Against Lebanon we can safely experiment and still win this game.

Kateb jan I disagree with your statement above. World cup has always been more important than asian cup. Qualifying to world cup was a dream and now advancing from the group stage is a dream. Asian cup is not even that reputable when it comes to competition levels. We have already won asian cup few times , but never advanced from our group.

Also when you compare the prize that we get from qualifying to next round in WC is 5*+ times more than the prize of winning Asian cup.

For reaching round of 16 we'll get $22.5 million And thats just advancing from our group to next stage. For asian cup the Total prize is $14.8 million lol (thats for all the teams)

Crappy teams can win an Asian Cup or any continental tournament - ie Greece, Denmark, Iraq, Qatar, Zambia, South Africa etc.

It’s a tournament no one except Asians care about. Who cares who wins, it’d be nice but South Korea hasn’t won since 1960! Longer than us. The world watches when Iran plays in the World Cup. You play against the world’s best. The Asian Cup can even be used as a tune up tournament for WCQs.

People who even put a meaningless continental tournament ahead of the World Cup do not know football. Sorry.

I think, this is the first tome Skocic has all the players in same place for 5 days without having to travel from one country to another. Hopefully they spent 3 days working together on some set plays. Too bad Azmoun is not available.

I wouldn't even be surprised if we breakout with a 6-7 goal game. Iraq was damn lucky, we should have scored at least 4 goals

For example, for teams like Iraq, Usbekistan, Bahrain the asian cup is more important but just because they cant qualify for the WC. The real Asian Cup are the wc quali games lol

My dream Line-Up would be:

Moharrami makes to many defensive errors IMO and his crosses are not as good as Rezaian's. And i think we can all agree that a fit and healthy PAG is WAY better than Shoja.

Unfortunately, for some reasons, Dragan doesn't like the way Rezaeian is playing and Dragan himself even admitted this in an interview. Also when PAG was fit in the last round, he was 2nd choice after Shoja and Kanaani. If a coach prefers Shoja over PAG, then I will keep doubting him, no matter which results he achieves. Now people praise him because we qualified but wait until Shoja faces a real striker who plays in a better league than Iraqi league or 3rd division England.
