I disagree, their DF line can be teared up with 2 Attacking FW's. Today Bayer was holding back hoping for a 0-0 draw which they failed. 4-3-3 moving into 4-2-1-2 formation would work against Roma. The problem is that fact that Alonso wants to use both frimpong and diaby . Why not bench one of them and then subin in 2nd half when Roma is tired. These players are fast and work perfectly against a tired slow team.

I've never been fan of 3 DF line formations, they always end up failing at some point.
yea, i think the key with Xabi' s early success was his Varied tactical approaches to each game based on the opponent's strength and weaknesses .... he has been stuck on this 343 formation and general approach to games since finding success with it and by now a bit too stale and predictable ..!!
he needs to mix it up a little bit on the general attacking approach, even if he keeps to the same formation ..!
Roma is a very defensively sound team and they are very dangerous countering team, the wing MFders of Bayer can ill afford to fall asleep on their defensive duties as they did tonight on the conceded goal..!!
Sardar is likely to get a start in the next league match ....? in order to keep key starters fresh for the return roma match...!!
all i gotta say, he better put some fire under his asss and show a lively impactfullness performance if he gets a starting nod...!! he is gonna need it in order to force himself in the big picture of the club going forward .!

Roma's defense had cleared that ball anyway, so Sardar's foul didn't deprive them of an attacking chase (rather, as Hosseini jan said, Sardar's pressure helped initially create the chance).Originally posted by PSGman#19 View PostOne thing every Iranian player does without exception is that silly fault.
Why Azmoun had to do a unnecessary fault on Rui Patricio during that Bayer chance??

Sardar was more effective in 15 mins than hlozek in 75... finally gave them a focal point and even with their terrible service gave them their best chance.
lot of their fans on twitter asking for him to start second leg, saying what we are saying that he is much more effective than hlozek. Also nice touch by mou hugging sardar before he went on (remember he tried to bring azmoun to roma from zenit)

Is it safe to say that nothing happened before SA came on and not much happened after either?!
That defense has BLs number... BL players could not go cleanly past their markers and no space was given anywhere dangerous for shooting.
Also playing the corners short played into Roma's strengths.

Alonso used the never change a winning team tactics relying on Frimpong and Diaby on the wings.
This worked well the last games but now it's the time to play classic attacking football with 2 strikers upfront.IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

And then we have Players like taremi and ARJ who are on strict diet , not eating sugar and iranian rice.
Sardar just doesn't give F anymore.

Well Thats what they claim. Its not that hard to be honest, you just have to be motivated enough. Sardar got married and I think he doesn't care at the moment. Just goes to training , gets few game minutes, goes home to his wife and for holiday skips Teammelli to play with horses and some cheeky volleyball with boyzz ......... repeat.Originally posted by Hosseini View Post

for the relatively big size and frame, sardar seems awful weak @ holding off the ball and generally shielding it off defenders to give his attacking partners to catch up to advance play and get involved. !!! freaking passes just bounce off of him ..... like wtf man?? !
he really needs to work on this..! this is not a shortcoming that can be overlooked wanting to play a more Stationary Target forward in this league..!!
