Yap. In the major cities if you want to play you need to sign up for a club. There are some decent academies but a lot of them either don’t teach you much, or select favorites, or just want your money …
The kids who are poor, get less chances unless they’re really talented.
Fortunately we have some decent academies like Foolad, Sepahan, Paykan, Saipa and Kia.
We need much more.
Granted I don’t think the issue in Iran will ever be lack of talent - the true issue is lack of development and being behind tactically.

Just so there isn't a communication issue:

1. You refer to recruitment into professional teams no longer being drawn from street footballers, but via middle layer acadamies, right?

2. But I was asking about if kids still get together randomly for street football pickup games (or not, because they now play video games etc.). Those are two different issues!

Privatization finally happening?
The 24-year-old spell broke. Today, Esteghlal and Persepolis clubs were registered with the Exchange Organization. The move towards good corporate governance, operational transparency, financial discipline and the participation of people and fans in these two clubs began.

Because this is Iran. Who knows how much false paperwork and lies and tricks have gone into action so these 2 can avoid military service (falsely).

I am Persepolisi but this whole military service story is real joke.
Tons of players find ways to avoid doing it so not really fair for some who are obligated to do it.
