2022 Qualifiers - Other Games Thread (AFC & beyond)
This is the toughest group indeed, Saudi, Japan and Aussie would have challenged us, and Oman is Gorbeh Siah of big teams.
Logically in normal situation Qatar could have beem grouped with us at least.
Our group was two teams race from day 1, while the other one is at least 3.

I used to fear the group of deaths as well, but since our draw in WC18 against Portugal, Spain, and Morocco, and CQ's amazingly positive attitude, my attitude has been "bring it on!". As CQ said, when/where else will we EVER (especially in this political climate) go up against quality teams like Germany or Belgium (or any other top 10 team)? TM got so much exposure and praise with their matches against Spain and Portugal/CR7. And we showed the world we were not there as tourists and could have made it to the Round of 16 on a different day. This is the time for high risk and high reward matches.
We want the countries that scout and sign our players to be strong Portugal, Belgium… Countries that fail to qualify for the World Cup make big changes, might lead to Portuguese teams taking less chances on our players. Also, makes the success of our players in the Portuguese league, and our WC draw against them look less significant, it’s all speculation for now but let’s hope it doesn’t hurt our player in the future.

Emirates entered Lebanon with actual weapons. The same piece of shit lebanese minister of the interior who cast aspersions against our national team said its ok emirates did that. hypocritical c*nt.
they've now made 4 of the last 5 World Cups (2006, 2010, 2018, 2022), where Europe gets 12-13 spots whereas they haven't qualified for Euro cup (before 16 teams and last 2 editions 24 teams) since 2000 !!!
European Play-offs will be intense since they are one-off games and anything can happen in those. Can't wait for the draw....the bloodbath in Netherland's group tomorrow will be intense, shame Haaland isn't playing. Normally I'd have the Dutch as easy favorites since Norway are garbage, but with new lockdown announced in Holland and no fans and also psychological blow of letting a 2 goal lead slip in Montenegro and well, Holland being Holland, anything is possible.
The Croatia-Russia game yesterday by the way was hilarious ... the pitch reminded me of Chooka Talesh pitch from back in 1378 when they went undefeated for a season at home...pure Water Polo! very unlucky own goal by the Russians to lose it
Africa's qualifiers is also a heart breaker...the final draw has no seedings and is random and your qualification basically comes to a head-to-head match with another pretty decent team. Hope to see new faces such as Burkina Faso or DR Congo at the WC.
