I'm for Mehdi Mahdavikia to continue working with our youth. It takes time guys. Be patient. If Mahdavikia stays with TM Omid or U-17/U-19 I'm sure we will see progress. But we can't jump to conclusion when the coach and his staff haven't been working for more than a year. In fact I don't think it's even been 1 year since Mahdavikia has coached this team.

I also think not inviting a player like Allahyar was a mistake. I know he's also a member of the senior team, but he could have been invited to TM Omid as well. Not sure why that didn't happen.

DO NOT TOUCH Mahdavikia and this coaching staff. Any other option will be worse. With this IFF leadership that has gone from disaster to disaster after WC qualification of TM, this is our best option and we all need to be patient. There are no guarantees that it will pan out for Paris 2024 yet we have people in charge who are committed and know a few things about youth development.

        Go TM U23!

People need to calm down. Kia's team still has a chance to advance. Them advancing will be great for their future. If we give CQ 8 years we can give Mehdi Mahdavikia 4.

                  Uzbekistan scores.

This team is really toothless and is not organized.
                  - Yasin's touches are so heavy
                  - We have no forwards
                  - Saman Fallah has no fight him and he gets nervous with the ball and is often not positioned well. Milad Kor is much better, despite being a lot younger.
                  - Iran has zero shots on net.

Very disappointing. Maybe it's time to look away from Mahdavikia - but unfortunately, a better coach won't come. He didn't even take a proper striker with him.

                    This team is useless.
Like they didn't even try and close him down. Just gave him a free header.

Disappointing. I was expecting better from Mahdavikia.

Wow, Uzb is dominating us in every way. It’s like watching Brazil - Moldavia, no lie. It’s really that bad

If we go by this tournament, none of these guys look like good prospects either. No one has stood out - Milad Kor being the closest.

This was a tournament that Yasin should have taken over, but he's been very average to below average. I get it he was injured, but come on - you were invited to Iran's main team and everyone thinks you're the best prospect (outside Allahyar) in our youth. Show some glimpses.

                            Long passes to no where

                            Poor connection to the attackers

Uzbekistan has always had excellent youth teams. They’re a very good team.

... and our youth teams have always sucked, outside the outlier U17 WC tournament a few years back.
