      .
You bring Allahyar, Hoessinzadeh and Arya and this is a totally different team.

For ppl who still think talent and dribbling ability can win you games , I guess not , or I guess not anymore, now that all the other teams play like teams now , and we still play like a bunch individuals on a team ,

I think MAHDAVIKIA should reconsider being a coach, he doesn’t have what it takes , he was a good player but coaching isn’t really his thing …..

This team actually had more camps that Team Melli did believe or not and they absolutely failed against very weak opponents…

One possible solution which I doubt IFF would impose is to require that teams in the top two tiers of Iranian football, must have at least 2 starters under the age of 23 in their lineup, and a minimum of 4 in their match day roster. Or some sort of variation of that.
That will ensure we have youth players who are used to getting a lot of time on the pitch.

It’s not about talent, or tactics or even specific coaching.

It’s about letting a consistent vision be implemented all the way through.
You don’t bail ship because a bird pooped on deck.
This is a meaningless tournament and we should always remember the goal: qualification for Paris 2024.
                We still have time.

More talented Omid teams failed just as badly. Best not to repeat the stupid policies of the past.

they play like u16. they need to stop inviting 19-21 year olds for u23. unless they are exceptional talents. our u23 squad together played 50 IPL matches. they cant even keep ball possession for more than 20 seconds. one of the worst iran u23 I have ever seen.

Can’t believe people blaming the coach and players, TM can’t even get friendlies, what the hell do you think the U23 gets? 😂

Rumour that Saman Fallah has signed with Persepolis.
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

Medi was a great player but not every great player can turn into a great or very good coach. Unfortunately Mehdie's record so far showes that as a coach he doesn’t have it. I just don't understand why IFF pick him to be U23 coach. IFF just doesn’t car especially with Estili as IFF boss. With this people incharge, even TM can't get a friendly And offcoure U23 will be in more trouble.

I don't agree with your comment, every tournament the goal should be to the best you can.
we have taken the opportunity of experiencing a international tournament from our 21-22 year old players so maybe our 19-20 year old will experience loosing in there.

No one knows how many of these guys will be around next two years.

I hope you are right, but I have never seen any consistency or vision in our football! It has been reactionary all along and continues to be like that! Look at TM! has there every been a vision? No, Nil, Ziltch! What makes anyone think there is one for U23?

thats the point though. Losing experience for the same age group that will be the ones who go for qualification is more critical than giving 22 and 23 year olds (who if strong enough should already be with NT) games vs asian youth opposition.

And with regards to which of these players will be around in 2 years, that is also exactly the point. Putting players from that age group in higher pressure situation together, when we lack any friendlies and many get barely any game time at senior level to properly assess them, gives the coaching staff a real chance to determine who should be included for critical Olympic qualifiers / who to build with moving forward / what weaknesses particular players should improve on in the next 2 years to help the team / what profile of players they need to find from the talent pool to improve the team.

If you play with a team of players who will be ineligible for olympic qualification and olympics, you lose the opportunity to gain ANY of this info. Then, you enter critical olympic qualifiers with a totally new team, more than likely little to no prep matches, and then we will REALLY be sad when we dont qualify for olympics AGAIN. Then the same people crying now will curse Kia for not selecting u21 in meaningless games earlier.
