Understanding Mahdavi Kia:
When it comes to full backs, he prefers no specialist, but Wingers utilized as back Wingers.
There is 3 LB in squad, Ahmadi, Akbarpour and Jafari, all play as LW for their team and not as LB.
Hasheminejad RB never play for MIS as RB but R winger.
Ahani is an RB specialist but was used as sub today ( I would have not selected him , There was questions regarding his age when he was playing for U16 , years ago).

I think Delfi is a strong addition too. I know he hasnt totally found himself on a consistent basis in europe but he showed at young age he was more than talented enough to succeed in the league, scoring many goals for weak SS Khuzestan team. Obviously in critical matches, olympic qualifications I am sure that Allahyar can be added as well.Originally posted by St_Mark View Post

not sure level of opposition but judging by highlights Kia is building team with clear tactical direction. They are pressing high and together, creating a lot of turnovers, and initiating quick transitions towards goal when they do.Originally posted by St_Mark View Post
When building up they use good of fast, short passes and utilize space down the sides well. I saw elements of this in the previous matches as well, but at times importance of result + pressure (like in packed stadium vs tajikstan in dushanbe) meant that team deviated from these tactics/weren't able to play game Kia wanted but managed to scrape win.
Having more prep matches like these, even if against under-strength PGPL sides will continue to build their chemistry and awareness of Kia gameplan.
Also nice to hear a lot of intensity and clear instructions from touchline. Something this age group has missed for many years following leadership fo Peyrovani and Estili (clueless compared to Kia, no philosophy associated with how their teams played)Comment
