(those who can play for Olympic team 2024),
We have to wait to see his selection and exclusions and if he decides with younger players several good players will be excluded

According to Varzesh3, Kamranifar, the IFF GC has also confirmed that Mahdavikia will continue as TM U23 coach. 1st Training camp, March 21 -29 FIFA days.


اردوی امید؛ فروردین ماه در کمپ تیم های ملی


کمپ تیم های ملی قرار است در دهه اول فروردین ماه برای تیم زیر 23 سال ایران خالی شود
به این خاطر که تیم ملی روز 4 فروردین در کره جنوبی به مصاف تیم ملی این کشور می رود
و از سویی فدراسیون فوتبال در تلاش است 9 فروردین بازی با لبنان را هم در یکی از شهرستان ها برگزار کند

Given that somebody of the profile of enayati was so close to getting this critical post I can only say we really got lucky kia has stayed on.

In just one camp he already uncovered multiple under the radar talents: Limouchi, milad kor, mohammadmehdi mohebbi, and twam was successful in recording 3 victories, including a big one over tajikstan in dushanbe.

I do not think he is the PERFECT coach but for sure he is the best possible...there is no chance any decent pgpl coach takes this job. The people who have coached this team in the past (estili,peyrovani) are complete nobodies when it comes to youth development especially compared to kia.

Hope he gets the support needed for a long term project

During qualification phase He got full support from Majedi.
Not just visit during training but easy to forget, Majedi was there in Tajikistan as Sarparate of U23 ( سرپرست کاروان اعرامی).

IFF yet to officially name U23 foreign assistant coaches but they are expected to be the same perhaps minus one
John Lammers (Assistant) is most likely one and Miltner (GK coach) is another.For a short period Kia's academy fitness coach was with them.

Shadidipour his Mahdavi kia loyal friend from Academy will be there,
Last time they had Rosenberg for short contract as fitness coach. They will need one.
Mohammadi will remain as team manager.

Championship round:






June 1- Tashkent- Vs Qatar
June 4: Tashkent - VS Turkmenistan
June 7: Qarshi- Vs Uzbekistan

3 difficult games in 7 days.

Coach should make a selection as they need two teams, one for Qatar and Uzbekistan and one for Turkmenistan.
Coach should include experience players who play for their clubs.
Even if he insists to go with u21 players, he should at minimum include Rezaei, Houshmand, Khodabandelo , Hosseinzadeh, Koushki
To me at least 12 u23 should be included

*-John Lammers & Shadidipour will be Mehdi's assistants.
(No names yet for GK & Fitness coaches)
*-Contract is for one year.
*- March 17, Numbers of players to be tested by coaches.
*- Training camp on March 22-29 (a week)
*- 1 friendly match. Iraq U23 or Belarus U23

مهدوی کیا قرارداد یک ساله امضا کرد و یک مربی خارجی به نام جان او را همراهی خواهد کرد.
همچنین مهران شدیدی پور مربی ایرانی هلندی هم به عنوان دستیار دوم تو فعالیت خواهد کرد.
در برنامه های آماده سازی تیم امید مقرر شده سه روز پیش از فرار رسیدن عید نوروز یکسری از بازیکنان مورد بررسی اعضای تیم ملی قرار بگیرند.
اردوی تیم امید از دوم تا نهم فروردین ماه برگزار می شود. در این زمان یک بازی دوستانه برای تیم امید در تهران در نظر گرفته شده که حریف آنها بلاروس یا تیم ملی عراق خواهد بود.

A very Kind advice to Mahdavi Kia:

Thanks for reaching agreement to continue with U23.


Your idea was over 2 years contract until Olympic Paris 2024, that still may happen, but it will all comes to, June and September games in Uzbekistan and Hangzhou China.

If U23 do satisfactory performance and get results, there will be stronger support for contract extension.
With that in mind you should go to these two tournaments with strongest players.

All players DOB 1/1/1999 are eligible to play in these two tournaments and that should be the criteria for selection with few exceptions.
These players deserve to get their chances and play for Iran, their only chance and short of a good reason, there is no justification that they should not be selected in favor of younger players to get experienced for 2024 Olympic games. Those younger players will get their chance.

If you don't get result now, you may not be a coach by 2024.

As suggested match with Belarus is not possible.

Mohammad Mohammadi has been U23 team manager and expected to extend his contract.
He said, Belarus game has been cancelled, they have invited Iraq U23 and have received Invitation from Saudi Arabia.
As mentioned earlier both these team will be playing at Dubai tournament.
If Mahdavi Kia insist to have training/games during FIFA days only options are limited. Last time during qualification they ended up playing Khosheh Talaei.
Mohammadi said they are still searching for a strong team to play against.
He mentioned 3 days (March 17-20) training is to test new players not in previous team)

اعتقاد مهدوی کیا این است که باید با تیمهای قوی بازی کنیم. الان هم برای حریف تدارکاتی به دنبال تیمهای بزرگ و نامدار هستند.
به تیمهای عراق و امارات درخواست داده ایم همچنین عربستان تقاضای بازی دوستانه کرده است.

کادر فنی برنامه اردویی تیم امید زا اعلام کرده که طبق برنامه 4 روز قبل از پایان سال 3 روز اردو داریم و آنهایی را که کمتر دیده ایم در اردو عملکرد آنها را زیر نظر می گیریم.
از 2 تا 9 فروردین هم اردویی را در تهران خواهیم داشت که قرار بود در این اردو با بلاروس بازی کنیم که کنسل شد و دنبال حریف تدارکاتی هستیم
