Yeah these are all great points…..I don’t get the reason everyone tries to compare Skocic to CQ. Their tenures cannot be compared at least not this early on Bc there were dramatically different circumstances that they inherited.Originally posted by inarsenewetrust View Postwhat? Yeah bc CQ built something from scrap. Go compare 2014 WCQ roster to what we have now...
He went from having to play davari, alanemeh, pourghaz types to where we are now with basically entire roster of legionairres.
Why would Skocic need to go through such a period of building? He is basically being given a set of highly talented players who have WC,AC experience already. This group of players (actually weaker set bc no moharrami, gholizadeh, taremi not in europe or close to player he is today, no ghoddos, no 3 GKs in Europe, Amiri back then wasnt player he has developed into now, etc) qualified to WC undefeated and with matches to spare.
How can expectation from same group (with upgrades in multiple positions and on bench) suddenly be less after 4 years of additional experience, enterring the primes, etc?Team Meli Iran

Compare what Wilmots did with the same set of highly talented players to what Skocic is doing or the results he is getting. 8 wins in 8 games, so let's give credit where credit is due. So far Skocic has done what Queiroz could not do in eight years, namely beating Bahrain and Iraq away and defeating Syria. He has just started and under very difficult conditions. You guys need to let Queiroz go he will never come back, let go of the past and focus on the present and the future. TM will easily qualify for the world cup, enjoy the ride.Originally posted by inarsenewetrust View Postwhat? Yeah bc CQ built something from scrap. Go compare 2014 WCQ roster to what we have now...

IF I am not mistaken Nekou at this stage had come back from spain, Gucci was playing in Charlton/sint truiden and not doing anything great there. Dejagah I grant you was in excellent shape and great player. But you are right those were stars of that team.Originally posted by O-ZoNe View PostYep let's give Skocic CQs salary, and 8nyears then let's talk. Of course we can make comparisons like that but on the surface pound for pound against Syria...Skocic has done better than CQ. Let me remind you today Sardar was not on the pitch. I'm not sure CQ had weaker teams either. A in form Dejagah, Nekounam, and Gucci are not bad options as examples.

Today just in position that Gucci was only option : Azmoun, Taremi, Allahyar, Karim (a much better karim than one who scored 0 goals in osasuna), Kaveh, Shahab Zahedi, Ali Alipour, etc.
AT right back he was playing khosro heydari, Voria. Today there is Dinamo Zagreb starting RB, and great young talent like Saleh Hardani.
in GK the upgrade is not comparable to what CQ was dealing with. Rahman Ahmadi, Alireza Haghighi wouldnt get in top 8 GKs of todays pool.
Wings he has : ARJ, Gholizadeh two players who have put strong campaigns in europe. There are likes of Ghayedi,Mohebbi,Torabi to choose from as backup options.
Anyways its an objective fact that we have a deeper talent pool today. I dont see why saying that is controversial. OR expecting the same players (plus better ones added) that qualified undefeated in last cycle to do the same again. Seems you are already making excuses if that standard isnt matched.
And for the record I am not even against skocic. He is the best we can do atm in terms of head coach. I am simply saying that the objective with a better group of players than in 2018 should be to at least match the performance of 2018 group, i.e qualify undefeated with matches to spare, get 4 pts in WC group. Anything else would represent a regression from results perspective.

2014 squad included Nekonam, Dejagah, Ghochi, Teymorian
SKocic had to play Salmani, Sarlak, etc...
Brother, my point was that this kind of comparison is useless and unnecessary. We can go back and forth. I can say that Skocic got a sh*t demoralized team after Wilmots. I can say that CQ did not have to deal with Covid and worst sanctions ever. CQ improved players by having friendlies and long camps and many many years... Not possible during Skocic's time... not fare to compare CQ's end results with beginning results of Skocic.
Coaches are usually judged by their substitutions. Skocic has analyzed the games well and made good substitutions in every game. Even though Ghoddos was playing extremely well individually, I thought the flow was better in the second half and we were able to score.
Coach shouldn't teach players how to pass the damn ball. We were missing simple passes today under no pressure. It was like a bunch of players were thrown together because it was a bunch of players thrown together without any preparation. We were just jittery today. We'll get better each game. And none of that was Skocic's fault. What would have CQ done differently?
I'd say that we should fire Skocic as soon as his record is worse than CQ. Right now Skocic is 8-0-0 which I am sure is no worse than CQ's first eight games. We can check after 10 games, 15 games, 20 games... Until then, give the dude a chance. We don't have any other options but to give the dude a chance.

Let's be honest.. Iraq is our biggest threat to us besides Korea.
If we beat Iraq next week, then our chances skyrocket for advancing.
I would even say a draw would be a solid result against them, but we want the 3 points.
I don't think UAE, Syria would threaten us. If anything, Syria and UAE may take points away from Iraq.

Jalal Hosseini, Teymourian, Montazeri, Pooladi, PAG, Haghighi, Davari, BeirNvand...I 8 years CQ had access to some of the best. He had a Shojaie in UD Palmas...give it up. What you call objective is actually subjective. Objective data is head to head comparable....I.e. results.Originally posted by inarsenewetrust View PostIF I am not mistaken Nekou at this stage had come back from spain, Gucci was playing in Charlton/sint truiden and not doing anything great there. Lol...feel free to watch Syria matches with Cq or even another of our group matches. Not everyone likes winning I guess. Given the circumstances it was a great game imo.Originally posted by KasraKhan View PostSave yourself the headache, BL jan. That match belongs in the trash bin and shouldn't be watched again.

I don't know if you guys heard this but during the ParamountPlus broadcast and after Milad Mohammadi either kicked the ball outside or committed a foul someone said (in Persian of course) "Agha Milad football baazee kon". I think the only person with enough authority to say something like that and who was on TM bench is Karim Bagheri (please remember that I am only guessing AND its a good guess). It could have come from one of our more senior players too. Of course there is no surprise that coaching staff and perhaps our other players were not happy with Milad's performance yet it was interesting that in the absence of fans we get to hear things that we normally would not hear. I actually appreciate straight talk like that.
Go TM!
