I feel the same way and felt that way last year too. I have not seen a strong game from him in ages. I miss Omid Ebrahimi. I wish he was 28. Nothing defines DM position more than grit, determination and stamina. Doing the simple things right and not making mistakes. Omid did it all.Originally posted by Iranianarsenal11 View PostGuys, this might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm leaning towards benching Saeid versus Syria this week.
His play today was really lacking against FC Copenhagen...
Now, who would play in his place at the 6?

I like to see some new blood in the team. The same old, same old is getting boring and is creating a sense of complacency among the usual suspects. No motivation to do more!
The incumbents for number of posts can be challenged by new players. Those include Left and right D, Midfield, Left Wing.

Omid Ebrahimi was good but age was even getting to him..Originally posted by Farzadfarhangni View PostI feel the same way and felt that way last year too. Could Sarlak play the 6 and do a good job?

no. Just bc our best midfielders may not be in peak form doesnt mean we should try worse ones.Originally posted by Iranianarsenal11 View PostOmid Ebrahimi was good but age was even getting to him..

Not that sarlak is a bad player, for asian club standard he is solid. Also Niknafs showed a lot and probably deserved his callup too. Issue is none of these players are very strong technically to distribute the ball well, under a semi organized press they are very liable to give turnovers, just hit long and aimless passes, etc.
Thats why even when not at his best Saeid gives a lot to TM. Bc he actually has vision when he gets the ball to give smart passes and connect to attacking mids/fwds, keep possession building from the back. That coupled with his defensive positioning makes him Irans best CDM.

Saeid just needs to get his consistency back. The issue with him is when he strings together a bunch of good games he gets injured... And somehow when he's healthy he plays inconsistent and makes a lot of mistakes, specifically with bad passes, poor touches, and lack of pace/energy. At least that's what I've witnessed in the last few weeks.Originally posted by inarsenewetrust View Postno. Just bc our best midfielders may not be in peak form doesnt mean we should try worse ones.

I hope he proves me wrong in the upcoming qualifiers. I trust whoever Bagheri, Hashemian, Skocic and CO decide to go with at CDM, as long as we have Amiri and Ghoddos up front at CM

Sarlak, Niknafs had a good season, played well during critical games and perhaps that is one reason Zendehrouh was not selected. Zendehrouh is a very good DM with excellent vision and ball distributions but he is 29 little older than Ave age Dragon is aiming for.Originally posted by inarsenewetrust View Postno. Dear
Dragon watched Foulad x Sepahan, & Foulad X Esteghlal , Golgohat X Esteghlal during Hazfi cup.
These games were the reason for selection of Niknafs, Karimi, Hardani, and SalmaniLast edited by St_Mark; 08-29-2021, 04:15 PM.

This is the initial news from June saying they will show it:
This is news from paramount plus AUS saying they will be showing the Australia games so I guess that could be a good indicator for us in North America: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.spo...c14gsuao41qaktTeam Meli Iran

I'm concerned it won't show due to IRIB shenanigans. However, the away TM matches may be broadcast. Keep us poasted Futbaldoost jan, I'll subscribe if they start showing them.Originally posted by Futbaldoost View PostI am subscribed and latest search of all the sports programs does not show anything. I am checking on a daily basis.
Go TM!
