FC Porto says that Taremi was "victim of a shameless racist attack" and silenced "the detractors"
In the official newsletter, FC Porto comes to Taremi's defense, at a time when he was nicknamed a "fake".
Following a text written by Tito Arantes Fontes, chairman of the Stromp Group, in Sporting's official newspaper, in which it is said that Mehdi Taremi is a "fake and an authentic snake charmer", FC Porto reacted, coming out in defense of the Iranian forward.
In this Sunday's Dragões Diário newsletter, the blues and whites say that the player - who was "the victim of at least one shameless racist attack" - "sold the detractors to silence" by scoring a hat-trick in the victory over Portimonense
"Charged as a man and athlete - in addition to being the victim of at least one shameless racist attack - the Iranian reserved the answer for yesterday's game with Portimonense: he scored three goals in the 7-0 victory and ordered the detractors to shut up. FC Porto will end this round with at least six points ahead of the runner-up", reads the newsletter.
