Insane stats you don't typically see after a football match:

Pushing a Porto administrator could cost Tabata a heavy punishment between 2 months to 2 years!

    Sporting want Dragao banned.

Reis was punched by 3 individuals associated with publicity.

Ball retrievers throw objects at Tabata & Vinagre.

Classico had 104 minutes but only 47 actually played.

Did you guys catch Mehdi starting to get a little involved at the end there….he started to get gheyrati

Found this vid and if you go to around min 1:30 you can see him and then like 20 seconds later it looks like SC grabs him and tells him to back off:

FC Porto coach, press secretary and vice president steal Sporting chairman

            Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 09:02 • Chris Meijer • Last update: 09:31

The top match between FC Porto and Sporting Portugal (2-2) on Friday evening that got completely out of hand is still getting a twist. Sporting writes in a statement on its website that a complaint is being filed against Vítor Baía (vice president), Sérgio Conceição (trainer) and Rui Cerqueira (press secretary). In skirmishes afterwards, Sporting president Frederico Varandas is said to have been 'physically and verbally attacked' and even robbed by the FC Porto trio.

The duel between the leader and the number two of the Portuguese Primeira Liga ended in a massive fight. In the tenth minute, Agustín Marchesín and Pepe on the side of FC Porto and João Palhinha and Bruno Tabata on the side of Sporting were shown a red card. Apparently things also remained unsettled after both teams had left the field. Sporting writes that Varandas was on his way to the team bus when he was met by the FC Porto trio and a number of security guards.

“Rui Cerqueira became violent towards the president of Sporting and took his wallet, containing his IDs, mobile phone and credit cards, from his hands and ran away with it. Despite police being on the scene, the mobile phone and documents could not be recovered," Sporting wrote in the statement. Sporting will press charges against Vítor Baía, Sérgio Conceição and Rui Cerqueira and make every effort to ensure that they can be banned from all stadiums.”

FC Porto released a photo showing Varandas' 'stolen' phone on the ground outside the Estádio do Dragão. "They have a long history of intimidating journalists, spectators and opponents, that's well known," Sporting emphasized. The reigning champions of Portugal also allege his supporters were unjustly barred from entering the stadium. The Sporting fans who were in the stadium became 'victims of aggression'.

“What happened on and off the field on Friday is too serious not to have any consequences. Sporting will not give up this fight," the statement concluded. Sporting lost expensive points in the battle for the national title in Porto. League-leader FC Porto has a six-point lead over the closest pursuer. Sporting in turn has a seven-point lead over Benfica, although the number three has played one game less.

You couldn’t make some of this stuff up. All we needed was the owner to come on to the pitch with his gun…wait no that’s Greece.

I know Porto is.a decent club but I like to see him in a top league eventually(Not PL of course) to see what he can vs stronger opponents on regular bases. Bundesliga or Serie A can be a good destination for him after WC probably.

                      Taremi 8
The placement on the left was a decoy, because he was close to Evanilson, who spent most of his time, especially after Coates was expelled. In the 24th minute he forced Adan to make a good save and in the 38th minute he served Fabio Vieira to make it 2-1. His first Sporting career goal came with a header, in the 78', and gave FC Porto a point.

Taremi surprise Back to eleven a month later.
Sergio had opened the door to surprise in the initial team and it really happened, with the placement of Taremi (in the photo) on the left side of the attack, a position that had been played by Pepe. For the Iranian, it was the recovery of a status that he had not enjoyed for a month, when, on January 12, he was replaced at half-time in the game with Vizela, in the "quarters" of the Cup.

Their Staff physically assaulted a jour IST last season, today Sporting ng filed a formal complaint because Porto staff stole Sporting's presidents phone and wallet, their coach is notorious for getting physical with opposing mangers and trying to intimidate referees.
I'm sure you can still football games without having to pull the amount of bullshit Porto ( or Athletico Madrid) pulls.
Scumbag club no matter how you look at it.
didnt say they were angels, not everybody has to be brighton lol. Wherever you look top clubs are filled with thugs. What do you think Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli are in italy? You think Real Madrid is a non-thug club? They are run by a literal franco-ist. Bayern are supposedly a bastion of decency and their club president and legend only cheated EU30mil in taxes...

I prefer this version of "Thug" to criminal state-run organizations like UAE that run man city, or stan kroenke, infamous American billionaire and piece of shit (look how he essentially drove multiple ranchers to committ suicide in texas) that owns arsenal.

You seem bothered because a team like porto is more out in the open about some (fairly low level) thuggish antics, when in reality there are far worst criminal clubs/owners/boards across europe who do major PR spin to seem civilized lol.

And yes, it is undeniable that this level of pressure and intensity on a regular basis is enormously beneficial for somebody like Taremi. In comparison when he gets to TM now he is relaxed, scores his goals with no fuss, and carries the team through the million off the field issues that he has to contend with every camp.

Porto is a great club. And why not the PL? Some of the best players in EPL came straight from Portugal league (i.e. Ruben Diaz, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot etc.)

Mehdi would do well in the PL.

Base on our players history in Eng.

Firstly, there are plenty of teams that play an intense physical game without having it turn into fights every other month. It's not like that the only way for Mehdi to be exposed to high pressure football is to be around coaches and teammates who act like warring chimps in a David Attenborough documentary.

As for other teams having shady owners and history, there's absolutely no doubt about it. I dislike Real Madrid for exactly the reason you mentioned. The thing is that Porto not only has a corrupt president ( literally convicted for football related corruption ), their behaviour on the field is also thuggish on a different degree even by "hot-headed" Portuguese standards. Sheikh Mansour or who the hell ever at least don't have their teams behaving like this.

If Mehdi didn't play for Porto, this would be a no brainer.

Either way, hope Mehdi has a great WC, and gets a big move after.
