Taremi will be just fine. He missed a couple of half chances. Tim Werner who will start for Chelsea today has missed at least ten of these chances in the last 3 or 4 games and there is talk about MU and Barcelona competing to recruit him. Porto's game plan was what lost the game not any one player. They basically have no plan for attacking through the middle except for Taremi but he needs time and space to receive the ball. Uribe being ineligible to play completely isolated Taremi and made it easy to mark him out of the game. He should have scored on the one ball that went over the bar. There is no getting around that. A top-class striker would have shot that ball on the second touch rather than blast it on the first touch or would have the technique to adjust to the height of the ball. Taremi managed to find 2 opportunities to put himself in scoring position in a crowded defense. Something none of his teammates managed to do. His technique failed him both times. Griezman completely whiffed at the ball in the first half in a better scoring position.

Really I am just so disappointed on so called “fans”. You are not a fan by bashing our best player. Every footballer goes thru difficult times sometimes, it’s not right to bash him because he haven’t scored in 5-6 games. He has done a lot in the past 6 games, he had a couple of assists and he ran his ass off! Please find a hobby or something you enjoy so you are happier with your lives instead of bashing this poor lad. Believe me, he is more disappointed than you all called fans. I think part of Taremi dip in form is how poorly Porto has done with Luis Diaz just taking over the team (in good and bads ways), and not working well with Evanilson it made him drop deeper, worker harder and loss in confidence.Original Ehsan of IK ISP and PFDC from 1999/2000!Comment

Taremi dropping back into the midfield to link up with Sardar is good for us, we don’t have a natural playmaker Taremi can be a Zlatan or Ronaldo like player who drops into midfield to create space and link up with other forwards. Skocic has actually done that before with Taremi, he drops as far as the center circle to collect the ball sometimes.Comment
