SC was right to make four subs. With the players who were on the pitch it didn't look like Porto was threatening.
He had to react and bring some fresh wind.
It didn't work out but whoever blames him for that is dumb.

I guess you are not that bright either says me. Because you never change 4 or 5 players at the same time unless you are 3 or 4 goals ahead and want to give some players playing time.. This is coaching 101.

He should have blamed his own tactics and authority in the game instead of blaming his players as that was exactly what he did.

Lol at shopping for a new striker. You guys are too much. This is his first true dip in form for the past 3 years.

First chance I think otavio made a bad pass, bobbled it into him with unnecessary speed, he realized it after too. Second one was a bad miss, needed to score that.

In general he seems a bit low on confidence, but it will return with a few goals. Dont forget this guy scored a beauty against liverpool and only through BS had a goal vs atleti denied, when rest of forward were struggling for form. Not to mention critical assist vs AC milan.

He needs to up his game, thats for sure. But it is not time to be reactionary. That is actually where SC fucked up bad today. They only needed 1 goal and he made 4 changes at once, new guys were all totally clueless bar sergio. He should have just subbed sergio in for grujic who was tiring a bit and take his chances with the group he had. Wendell also really let team down with RC, but again a bit of that is on SC to not collect the team after they got the man advantage.

Overall this is a great learning curve for Taremi, first real difficulty, he needs to play through it. All is not lost for Porto as they will have a go in EL and are well positioned to take back league crown.

I, as someone who advocated for Skocic dropping, believe Taremi served his punishment for his mistakes and I'm confident he learned his lesson. No more need to drop him from the squad.

Dont know if he is that smart to learn lessons. All his career was paved on bad moves : rizepor dramas, political tweets, red cards against benfica and juve, Portugal miss, and all the last ucl misses, Skocic crtics.

Another member is right saying he is a good player with some flash of brilliance, but nothing more.

Lyon is not bad a move (unless superior offers arises) with the WC sneaking up shortly. Peter Bosz trusts him, Lyon fans love him, and more importantly will be playing in a much better league for a much better team that plays European Football.

That's what I thought this summer. But bosz is doing very poorly, I expect him to be sacked before next summer.
And fans/medias will quickly turn against him at the first difficulty

and that is why its such an achievement for our guys just to get to this level and experience these things. They will be better players bc of it, even if they go through rough patches. Taremi is still contributing to Porto despite few games without scoring, everybody sees that, not just us.

This is Taremi's first dry spell in a very long time, we also have to consider that. No other Porto Cf has delivered at the level he has in many many years (not since Jackson Martinez potentially). His place is safe, just needs to score a couple goals and get confidence back. Also will teach him not to get too high in the good times --> Becoming a more mature and better player.

SC despite being an emotional guy is loyal to his strikers. Marega played every game even when he wasn’t producing, because SC had learned to really like him after one season and always being a huge hustler/runner. Taremi is the same. He’s had one drop in form, but besides Salah, Ronaldo, Lewandoski and until recently Messi, that was the norm.

Let’s not forget Taremi is running like a DM, playmakong like a CM, and attacking like a forward, and he’s expected to do it all flawlessly.

Porto is a team that punched way above its weight last year. Without Pepe they have no defense and without Taremi and Diaz they have no attack. They’re about to be banned from transfers again and guys like Martinez and evanilson have shown to be completely average at best.

Taremi is here to stay.

Exactly. Taremis greatest asset ISNT his finishing. Azmoun is a better pure scorer than taremi for sure. That is why SC will continue to play him, he is giving way more to the team than just goals. But ofc scoring elevates every forwards confidence, and in CL you have such few chances. He needed to score one of those, didn’t happen, but not end of the world. He will be back next year.

In meantime they have league fight and potential chance for deep EL run so he needs to move on quick.

Nobody said taremi is lewandowski, he is a very good forward capable of troubling any defense in Europe, and just like other players in his caliber from time to time he will miss a couple big chances. Doesn’t mean he is suddenly shit, just a reflection of reality
