Turned the game off, hard one to watch . I was very impressed with Alipour, must be frustrating for Mehdi to play with some of the players around him - he put in a good shift though. Porto need to strengthen more before the end of the transfer window - Benfica and Sporting look better teams.

Porto needs help. Taremi is the only playmaker and the rest are either underperforming or simply not good enough. They didn’t reinforce enough this summer.

Call me biased but I always feel that Porto’s attack becomes clueless and selfish without Taremi. With him and his killer instinct Porto has always the chance to score.

Porto dropped to 3rd place after week 3 of Liga NOS, behind Benefica and Sporting (both of which have 9 points). SC needs to figure out his lineup and tactics to feed Mehdi. The former Golden Boot winner needs service to score and keep Porto in league title and automatic CL qualification contention. SC needs to avoid playing catch up again late in the season. Next match against Arouca at Dragao. Time to rack up some goals to at least keep the GD up.

They desperately need Grujic to partner uribe in midfield, have sergio O as the rotation option for those 2. Grujic is still getting full fitness back after late start to pre season. That will help them a lot.

Also they should just start Wendell at LB from next game on. Their options there are pathetic.

Im honestly really dissaspointed by their recruitment. A new LB and RB were super obvious needs, they have maybe addressed 1 of those with signing wendell, and even he has question marks about him.

They needed a very solid CB to anchor the backline with mbemba, have pepe rotate in for really the bigger matches. Doesnt look like they will get that.

And OFC a 10 would have been perfect, instead it seems they will use taremi as the main playmaker this year, dropping deeper and playing killer passes.

^ They played the veteran Ivan Marcano at LB today and he was a major improvement over Manafa-Zaidu. Marcano played intelligently, and connected well with Diaz. Porto fans are very pleased with his performance.

Obviously not the long term solution, but a seeming improvement over their other options.

wow, whatta well weighted, incisive pass right into octavio's path ....!! he is really good at making these amazing last passes..!! especially off late in TM and Porto..!!
i dont think Lewis Diaz managed to get his foot to the ball although he came awful close... the first defender's shin beat him to the ball from what im seeing and then the ball deflected off the 2nd defender back for taremi to blast home..!! the 2nd defender seemed barely inside the line (if not on line..?) When ball bounced off him ...!
so either an OG or Taremi's, which is a more sensible decision to go with in those sorta situation ..!!

missed the game, but Porto can ill afford to loose points vs such lowly opposition and still have championship aspirations ..!! as other's alluded they need more MF reinforcement ..... Oliverio seemed to be on his last legs towards the end of last season and i doubt he can be counted on as much as last season for half as much contributions this season..? they nearly suckered that one club (forgot name?) to pay good money for him earlier in the transfer season but unfortunately the transfer fell through..!!
they really coulda used the dosh in order to bring a semi-decent Box To Box Midfielder which they look to be in desperate need of currently...!! some high energy, physical hustler type, like that Onyoka dude that Brentford brought in..!!
maybe they can get Saeed for measly dollars..!! with an improved form and fitness he can certainly do the job for them with minimal cost of acquiring..?? Mehdi should suggest it to SC..!!
or maybe Gholi..??
