Similar problem to what Zenit have , the quality of the opposition can be so poor that they don’t have to get out of first gear to win . This leads to complacency and the occasional loss.

I dont think their creativity is a huge issue. They are capable of scoring in most situations, see CL last year. No doubt they could use a CAM tho.

But as you say the defense is worrying. The CBs are ok (although another really strong younger Cb to rotate between mbemba and Pepe would be ideal) but the full backs are just terrible. At RB they are playing a kid joao mario who was playing striker last season, at LB is the RB manafa bc the actual LB zaidu is too shit defensively.

They really need to upgrade LB,RB slots to ensure another competitive CL campaign and league charge. Keep in mind Benfica have strengthened a lot again.

Porto squeeks by with a win after VAR review removes the equalizer due to off side. Mehdi did as best as he could and was clearly gassed out when subbed off (it was a very warm/sunny day). He had a chance at scoring shortly before the end of the match, but Zaidu's cross was a bit too forward (and Mehdi could have been a bit more up front to meet it).

that chance was offsides anyways bc luis diaz made terrible decision to pass to zaidu who was off and not to taremi who was onsides and would have been clean thru on goal.
