If you look at the schedule, many of the matches are back to back just 5 days apart. So it would be better to avoid long travel times. I’d prefer Lebanon, a 2 hour flight over Vietnam a 10 hour flight for our players. Same SK over Australia. The teams are all pretty similar per pot, so better to avoid lag and adjusting to time zones a few days before potentially important matches

"The draw for the third round will be held on 1 July 2021 at 15:00 MST (UTC+8), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia."

But where its held and will it be televised and who is doing the draw remains mystery. For all we now its going to be held at Windsor johns house and his ameh is drawing the balls behind closed doors.

I've thought that too, but no other organization does this (not Olympics, not VNL, not World Wrestling organizations), only AFC. I think it's part of AFC's anti-Iran agenda. To constantly remind people of the "Islamic Republic" as a pariah, similar name to Islamic State (ISIS, etc).
