In important games such as games against South Korea there is no forgiveness for mistakes, by players or a coach. Teams with less mistakes has more chance to not lose.

Odds were against Skocic even before the game but perhaps most critical mistakes were his decisions, tactics, substitution...
Restructuring the team in every line without proper practice/training is a suicide mission let alone undefendable choices.
Noorafkan recently was doing ok as LB , suddenly playing as DM. Khalilzad was recently struggling mentally and physically as a CB , suddenly he is a RB and when he was unable to function was replace by Gholami .
Hajsafi is a wrong choice when tactical and intelligent play is required and there was no place for him.

Coach wasted first half experimenting , and was not watching the game carefully otherwise he would have use Esmaeili far to slow Korean attacks from weak TM RB.
There is no place for experiment in such a game/

The quicker they can get out of Korea, the better..

Whats the point? I've seen people talking about this but whats the point? Honestly winning the group won't help us achieve anything! The important match was SK game which we lost. So now we will lose the #1 asian spot and pot 2 Fifa world cup seed.

Just hope that Japan draw next match so we can stay asia's #1 and miracle happens and other teams lose and we take the pot 2. The chances of that happening (uruguay lose, Sweden lose , USA/Mexico don't qualify , Colombia don't qualify, both italy and portugal don't qualify) is Very very very low. Less than 1%

Like you, I have also been critical of the coach and the tactics he employed in another thread, but I guess the other side of the coin is also the quality of our players and their ability to execute. It is like attempting to drive a car at 200 km/hr if the engine is not designed to do that. We do have serious quality issue in our ranks. Our internal leagues are doing nothing to develop players. No player education!

Skocic during PGL season attended many games to monitor players and TM prospects but his selections and use of players is a mystery sometimes.
Are there no DM in Iran in case Ezatollahi is not available? How many times this season or last Noorafkan had played as a DM?
Are there no RB in Iran if Moharami is not available? Are Khalilzadeh, Gholami RB specialists? Are there better RB than Esmaeilifar or Hardani?
When a coach decides to resort to desperate and unpopular decision, he take a risk, not only risk of losing but damage reputation of Team and himself.
Skocic will have hard time to justify his tactic , game plan, and formation today , he will lose support among the fans , officials and players and it can make his job more difficult in future.

This will not end well if continued.
