according to the official website of the football federation hamid steely, the manager of iran's national football team regarding the process of pursuing the national team's friendly matches before the world cup said: after meeting with lebanon, the initial consultations for holding friendly games were on the agenda of the federation, however, and given that many countries had already started the necessary measures in this regard, it is possible it had talks and correspondence in the last year, which had not been done. in any case, after the world cup draw in doha, good talks and meetings took place in this regard, and i can say that in coordination with the international affairs of the federation, some members of the board of directors, executive staff and coordination of the technical staff have been continuously followed this process and negotiations and correspondence have been conducted with numerous countries from different continents. in fact, everyone is trying to make the best decision and choice possible in these special situations.

Maajedi (IFF acting president) along with Sajadi (sports minister), Parvin and others met with Raiesi (president of IR) and gave him a number 8 TM shirt (reference to Imam Reza who was the eight Imam of Shia Islam, Raiesi used to be the head of "Astaan-eh Ghods-eh Razavi" the foundation in Mashad that oversees the huge wealth of Imam Reza's state). Maajedi referred to money problems and implicitly asked for government support. Also Estili had this piece on IFF web site that said the preparation plans will be announced soon. Estili's remarks are one of the best examples of talking a lot and not saying anything of value. It is an amalgam of what they tried to do after the Lebanon match on March 29 (after losing more than two months post January 27 qualification) and different paths and challenges that they faced. It shows that Estili sees friendlies as the only aspect of preparation and has no clue about planning for a WC. I think the current folks at IFF are going on a "show and tell" onslaught to pretend they are doing something. No new developments of any value are in these two IFF website articles.

The one area of our footy I don’t know all the ins and outs like I do other areas is our federation and the ppl in them and you two are always super up to date and know your history of The Who is who and who does what so thank you for the continued and ongoing education from you both! There needs to be transparency about what is on the agenda in the IFF General Assembly on May 31st. According to Kamranifar the letters containing the date and agenda was sent to all 87 members of GA before the 70 day-prior deadline. The invited members had some time to RSVP and provide feedback on the agenda and ask questions. It is not clear if they did. The original agenda was only approval of Azizi Khadem's dismissal. If they have not put election of a new IFF president on the agenda in case of Azizi Khadem's dismissal approval by GA (I doubt they have) then the GA will only approve or disapprove Azizi Khadem's dismissal. If it approves, then there will be another GA meeting to elect a new president and BoD which also means the current BoD will still be "in charge". There could be other scenarios that I am not aware of but we don't know because there is no transparency. No one in the media is asking about all this. They are more concerned about the sensational tabloid stuff like what happened with the lockers of Nassaji and Aluminum before the Hazfi Cup final and who kicked who.

These fools don't realize alot of us would have a lot of understanding for IFF considering the limitations domestically and financially - however they don't even do the bare minimum, or at the very least communicate professionally so that we can sympathize.

Instead they antagonize and create animosity towards them with their ineptitude and silence.
They were asking Seraji yesterday about the issues you talked about, and for the most part he said he's not involved or isn't in the loop. Can you imagine how shameless you have to be to serve as a member of the BoD and then tell media you have no idea about anything you're responsible for?

a_m, let's be clear - the money itself is not blocked - the transfer of the money is!

The money hasn't been released - otherwise why do you think Sazmane Varzesh, IFF and every dallal in Iran is trying to get the money for themselves?

Iran earned money for qualifying to and participating in FIFA WCs 2014 and 2018. FIFA can not take that money away. As Nokhodi said, they have blocked the transfer of the money to the IFF. The severity of sanctions have also changed over the years. For example, FIFA allowed transfer to third parties (e.g. CQ) as payments up to early/mid 2019, that's how CQ got the balance of his contract after his departure post AC 2019. Later and with more Trump sanctions in 2019, FIFA stopped doing third party transfer (e.g. Wilmots). When anyone says money is blocked they mean that FIFA has put this in an account under Iran's name but does not allow the transfer of the funds to anyone. There is hope that after easing of the sanctions, FIFA would allow that.

BTW, I think the whole thing is hypocrisy of FIFA who bows to the economic power and influence of the United States (regardless of what we may think about IR).

IFF executive committee (heyat raiseh) usually has 9 members. They need 8 members according to their own rules for any formal meetings to take place.
Since Shohreh Mousavi is under arrest (financial stuff unrelated to IFF), and Azizi Khadem doesn't show up, they can't hold a formal meeting.

Idiots. If FIFA had known these donkeys would freeze the federation themselves, they wouldn't have wasted time on that letter a few days ago.

Just hold the damn election for IFF already and at least get someone permanent in there.
