Dragan Skocic, regarding the controversy with the FC Porto striker, who was left out of the squad
The absence of Mehdi Taremi from the last squad, following a dispute with the selector, remains a prominent topic in Iran. Skovic spoke publicly on the subject.
"Iran's national team belongs to everyone and not to one coach or player in particular. Mehdi Taremi is an incredible player and we need him, but there are also values we must respect. The game against Lebanon will be difficult and we are here fully prepared for it," said the coach at a press conference.
Taremi, who will be left out of the matches against Lebanon and Syria, responded to Iran's selector on twitter, after he stated that the country's players lacked tactical knowledge.
"I would like to say that, in addition to individual technique and physical strength, Iranian players have a high level of tactical knowledge of football. Unfortunately, the problems are different. Long live Iran", wrote, at the time, the FC Porto striker .

Taremi's message on social media aimed at the Iran national team

Mehdi Taremi, FC Porto forward, left a message for the Iran national team this Wednesday, after being left out of the squad for the upcoming commitments. "A sincere wish of success for the national team. God willing, we will succeed, with the help of God and everyone involved in the national team," he posted on social media.
