thats the problem with having a for most part amateur coach with little clout and influence in Europe and beyond..!! CQ probably woulda been able to convince a few clubs to release our key players a few days earlier than the fifa mandated dates but an unknown character like Eskoocher wont stand a faintest of chances on those fronts..!
also if you think CQ woulda been sufficed as having our WCQ vs syria also play a role as our sole preparatory game for the rest of the wcqs then IFF woulda had another thing coming ..!!

Coach's influence is important in many cases, but in this case, I don't think any coach could do anything to get our legionnaires back earlier. Teams will keep their players for their weekend game and they are free to leave immediately after the game. If the team has a Saturday game, they can be in Iran by Sunday and ready to practice by Monday for the Wednesday, Sept. 1st game. If they have a Sunday game, be in Iran by Monday and maybe a very light practice on Tuesday before Wednesday's game.

If indeed, our game is scheduled for Wednesday Sept 1st, that is most definitely AFC f*cking with us. International games are almost always scheduled on Thursday and following Tuesday for this very reason.

No coach would so that BL Jan.
They’re paying for the players and unless they’re completely unwanted they’re not going to let go any earlier than they’re mandated to.

Azadi Stadium set to be equipped with VAR

According to the Development and Maintenance of Sports Facilities of Iran, the video assistant referee (VAR) system that may be installed belongs to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and it will only be used in national team’s matches.

Iran will play Syria, Iraq, UAE, South Korea, and Lebanon in the third stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Dragan Skocic’s team will host Syria on September 2 in the first step.

Earlier, the AFC had announced that VAR should be used in all matches of this stage of qualifiers.

It has been years that Iran is pursuing to buy such a system but officials cite US sanctions and financial problems as the main barriers.

The past does not guarantee anything for the future. We need to watch him out a lot. Anyway our focus should be only Syria at the moment.

                          Information about Iran’s opponents

                          Iraq
                          Head coach: Dick Advocaat
                          Appointed: 1 August 2021

                          Syria
                          Head coach: Nizar Mahrous
                          Appointed: 7 July 2021

                          Lebanon
                          Head coach: Ivan Hašek
                          Appointed: 15 July 2021

                          UAE
                          Head coach: Bert van Marwijk
                          Fired: 4 December 2019
                          Rehired: 14 December 2020

Iraq, Syria and Lebanon have just got new coaches with no games played together.
UAE didn’t have a coach a whole year since they fired and rehired the same coach.

                          Home Advantage

Syria and Iraq won’t have home games. Iran will have 5 home games plus two away games on neutral ground. This means that we only have 3 away games (Lebanon, UAE, South Korea).

Two teams qualify to the World Cup. Therefore, Iran can lose two games and still qualify.

We only need to win 1 away game (Lebanon) if we win our home/neutral games.

We won our group in round 2 with a single home game and that was against Cambodia. We have won 7 out of 7 games so far with Skocic.
Now we have 7 games (out of 10) that won’t be away, against teams that barely had any time with their new coaches. Even UAE doesn’t have their ideal coach considering that they fired him and rehired him.
Although wins against South Korea will be sweet, we don’t even need to think about their presence as long as we handle the Arab opponents.

Iran head to head vs Syria:
                          16 wins, 11 draws, 1 loss (1973).

Iran head to head vs UAE:
                          10 wins, 4 draws, 0 losses.

Iran head to head vs Lebanon:
                          7 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss.

                          World Cup Qualifiers 2018

South Korea qualified to the World Cup in second place with 4 wins out of 10 games.

UAE, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon are all of similar quality. They will take points from each other and I believe that 5 wins should be enough to finish at least in third place.

Iran has qualified to the World Cup back to back. This time, our chances have never been better.

                          We will qualify.

Rumor going around that Iran won’t be allowed to host as sanctions have prevented AFC from sending VAR equipment to Iran.

I thought FIFA said not to mix politics with sports? Oh wait, apparently that only applies when Iran do it....
