Looks like Tommy Williamson officially retired from professional football today at age 25.

Wow, what an unbelievable journey. 20 years ago a dream began that would take me places I could never imagine. All I wanted to do growing up was become a professional soccer player, and I’m so grateful I was able to accomplish what was my biggest dream. What has become more important to me as I reflect is the people I’ve met and places I’ve been along this adventure; teammates that have turned into lifelong friends, mentors that have inspired me, cities that I can now call home. None of this would be possible without my family, thank you so much for your endless support. To my friends who have rode this journey with me, thank you, every jersey you’ve worn and game you’ve watched has meant the world to me. Thank you to San Jose Earthquakes Soccer for my first professional opportunity and for realizing my dream for the first time. Thank you to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, Minnesota United FC and Loudoun United Football Club for the privilege to represent their badge and community. Thank you to Cal Athletics and the Men’s Soccer program for the opportunity to represent the Golden Bears. Thank you to my agent Stefani Miglioranzi for being there with me every step of the way. Thank you to every coach, teammate, front office and supporter that I’ve had the pleasure to work with and share memories I will never forget. It has truly been an adventure of a lifetime. | 16 comments on LinkedIn

Looks to unfortunately be the same early retirement path as Amir Bashti, Cyrus Rad, and now Tommy Williamson.

I had the most hopes for Bashti.
