big win for charleroi. 3-1. Gholi with the first assisted by Kaveh. Was a great 1v1 finish by gholi. He is really improving in his final action numbers this season. 6 goals and 6 assists in all comps. We said at start of season 10 and 10 would be a strong return and he is on track for that.

They are now back to 5th. Not too bad. 1pt off liege in 4th who play brugge tomorrow.

In belgium this year playoff format has been adapted. Top 4 go to CL playoffs round robin. There the 1st place team wins league + gets direct CL qualification. 2nd place to CL playoffs. 3rd to EL playoffs. 4th goes to playoff match to get into EL playoffs with the top team from #5-8 round robin.

So as long as they get top 4 they have a strong chance to get into europe next season. They have a cup game midweek followed by match vs Zulte next weekend.

After no wins in their last 6 league games including 5 losses this was much needed. Big shame as they would have been close to Brugge up the top if they had performed well in those games.

I like the moves charleroi made. Vranjes is a solid CB with WC experience (he played vs TM in brazil) and good record with anderlecht and AEK. Him and bearded bald guy desolleil are a good combo in cb for belgian standards.

RB they also made solid signing with Botaka from Gent. He will get found out on defense but on offense expect him and gholi to make a super dangerous partnership.

In midfield they brought back benavente. He was awesome with kaveh a few seasons back. His arrival means morioka can return to pivot role he played so well last season.

That leaves a very technical attacking trident of gholi,benavente, and bruno (or fall for more physicality) under Kaveh.

They also have a solid backup for Kaveh now since Polish guy they signed in summer from udinese is finally fit.

Benavente coming back is the best move they made this season (beside loaning Kaveh). As you mentioned he was pretty good in the team before, and brings in some creativity in addition to Gholi's.
