They did try to hire other coaches. No one else wanted to work in Iran and to deal with IFF and the government.

I hope it is false because then I really cannot understand the idea of changing the head coach, since many complained about CQ's salary or that he did not visit each and every single game in our league, but then we have Wilmots who came to Iran one week before our next WC qualifier...

It's unbelievable and mind baffling how we replaced a legend like CQ for an average, even below standards coach Wilmots! CQ was like a father for our team and fans, his work won't be replaced.
