Ghoddos is what I call great value for his cost. His performances should not be forgotten. I think Dutch league would be perfect for his skills.

Amiens going to court to challenge relegation

Amiens launch legal battle against 'unjust' Ligue 1 relegation

Amiens, France, May 12, 2020 (AFP) - French club Amiens have launched legal proceedings in a bid to overturn what they consider to be their "unjust" relegation from Ligue 1 after the season was ended early due to the coronavirus pandemic."We find that this decision goes against sporting fairness. The decision is a punishment from the league. It is unjust," the club's president, Bernard Joannin, said during a press conference on Tuesday."We have been forced into fighting, into going to court to try to overturn this unfair decision."The LFP, which runs the top two divisions in French football, decided late last month to call an end to the season with 10 of the 38 scheduled rounds of games unplayed because of the coronavirus-induced suspension. That was after the French government ruled out any prospect of matches returning before August. The decision confirmed Paris Saint-Germain as champions and also meant that the bottom two, Amiens and Toulouse, were condemned to relegation to Ligue 2. Lorient and Lens have been promoted in their place.Amiens, from the north of the country, were four points away from what would have been safety when action was suspended, but were still due to play several of their rivals in the relegation battle."We are not contesting the decision to stop the season. That is not really the object of these proceedings. It would be a bit inappropriate," said the club's lawyer, Christophe Bertrand. "However, what we are contesting are the consequences of the decisions that were taken."The appeal has been filed at the Paris Administrative Court.Amiens, who were playing in just their third top-flight season having won promotion in 2017, believe a proposal to temporarily increase the number of clubs in Ligue 1 from 20 to 22 should have been considered, thereby saving them and Toulouse from the drop.Lyon have also threatened legal action with their president Jean-Michel Aulas vehemently opposed to the league's decision, which left his club seventh and set to miss out on a place in Europe next season for the first time in almost quarter of a century.

It's nonsense that Amiens is being relegated, they should win the case.

French league jumped the gun too quickly on this decision. A lot of leagues are working on a return. Its ok to give PSG the title if they want but to relegate a team when they still had a chance isnt right.

At the least they should have offered a playoff between them and other closer teams

CAS has released the list of cases that will be decided soon. The first case will be Huesca vs. Ghoddos on May 25th:

"The list of published hearings begins on May 25, with two in which SD Huesca will be involved in the case of the Swedish nationalized Iranian player Saman Ghoddos , who once refused to join the team and ended up in the French Amiens, despite the Aragonese club have reached an agreement with their home team, the Swedish Ostersunds, and with the player, who passed the medical examination and signed the contract and the federation record."

I really hope he doesn’t get messed around with and done over. If he gets found against that is a hell of a lot of money to pay back and could influence where he moves to in the future.

Amiens pursuing further legal action against relegation!

Report: Amiens join Lyon in taking Ligue 1 appeal to top French court
Paris, May 26, 2020 (AFP) - Relegated Amiens on Tuesday joined Lyon in telling AFP that they will challenge the decision to end the Ligue 1 season early before the Council of State, France's highest administrative court. The club oppose the April 30 decision by the French Football League (LFP) to end the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, after the government said sports leagues could not resume until September at the earliest.Amiens were relegated from Ligue 1 as the second-bottom team after the final table was decided based on points per game, with 10 scheduled rounds of matches remaining."Amiens are still fighting against this decision which we find unfair, incoherent and unfounded," Amiens president Bernard Joannin told AFP."The LFP board of directors has pronounced an arbitrary relegation of our club."Lyon, who missed out on qualification for the Europa League after finishing seventh, said on Monday that they would also appeal at the Council of State.Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas also wrote a letter Monday to France's prime minister and sports minister urging them to reconsider the decision to end the season, with the government expected to announce next week a further easing of the lockdown. On Tuesday, six Senators for the opposition Republican party tabled an amendment to Emmanuel Macron's government's latest emergency bill which would allow French sports leagues to resume their seasons if passed.

"The decision on the Ghoddos Case will not come before the end of July

Daniel Kindberg, the former president of Östersunds, the club from which SD Huesca tried to sign the player, has supported in Swedish media the latest version given by him before TAS.

The final resolution of the Ghoddos Case will not take place, at the earliest, until the end of July, at least that is how it is estimated within the Court of Sports Arbitration (TAS)."

Daniel Kindberg, el que fuera presidente del Östersunds, club desde el que la SD Huesca trató de fichar al jugador, ha respaldado en medios suecos la última versión dada por éste ante el TAS.

It's very important that Amiens stays in the Ligue1. Ghoddos can show his abilities in the new season and move on to a much better club, it will be nearly impossible for him to do that in the second league! Ghoddos deserves much better, he will fit great in the primera division with his technical skills.
