He already confirmed he would be back to start brighton pre season and was only in iran for a week.

    I stand corrected.
He's posting all sorts of stuff from Iran on instagram (with him in it), so I thought he was in Iran.

It was always going to go to Son tbh. Online voting by the public only had a 10% weight for the whole voting system. The majority of the weight is on representatives of various sponsors of the premier league. Even though son's goal was a good goal, I think his stature and the fact that he plays for Tottenham makes a bigger impact. And also despite what some people might think, in my opinion, the fact that he's Iranian also has an impact whether consciously or unconsciously.

It's true that Brighton favors workhorse type of players but why didn't we realise that beforehand? Why didn't Ali consider this? and is there someone who claims they knew this all along?
Because it doesn't take a genius to say it was a mistake after the season is finished and JB was dropped out of matchday squad tons of times

#FreeBenWhite is still trending and hilarious. People are coming up with very clever posts on social media. Here are some favorites:

Mfs didn't allowed me to vote with an Iranian IP address. However I still managed to register a vote for AJ.
I would still vote for him regardless of being his hamvatan, given that he came on as a sub and that was one of his first touches?
    Also happy birthday to AJ!

He turned 27 today. Happy birthday to him. Hopefully we will see him at his best playing week in week out in the upcoming season.

Please guys go vote for him! It is goint to be a historical event if an Iranian wins the premier league goal of the year award.

The nine monthly winners throughout the campaign, two of which were scored by Kevin De Bruyne, were put forward for the award

Also perhaps put it in the front page - news site etc.
