His track record hasn’t been great so far but then again CQ’s record as a manager wasn’t the greatest either. But he was respected in the game for his work behind the team and he showed commitment to the cause.
To be fair I don’t know enough about Montellas management style to pass judgment , he was a very good player though.

He was coaching Sevilla last season.
He's a good coach. He did some great work at Fiorentina, and I really enjoyed their playing style when he was there. Milan was a tough job for anyone at the time he was manager, their ownership/management issues only recently settled down. So I give him a pass on that. Not sure what happened at Sevilla, I don't really follow La Liga. In terms of experience and credentials, he's great. But as you mentioned we need someone who's passionate about the project. We'll see if this develops into anything.

Better than Ghalenoei, but still unsure about this guy.

So we will be paying almost the same salary as CQ to a coach who is at a much lower caliber?

I don’t know who this guy is and his record doesn’t seem promising but not sure you never know how he’ll preform

They can also hire me for even less. I will bring my 5 german assistant with me and I will do much better than the Italian who is always been fired. I know Team Melli and know what is good for us

We will see Carlos Qurioz hard work what he did for us... We will now know what we lost..

Exactly, you can't judge his Milan days, Milan was a mess. My only concern about him is lack of national team experience.

So we’re paying a guy the same amount as we would have paid CQ, with no international football experience, and offering him a 3.5 year contract without any test period? And how is this better than having renewed CQ’s contract for the same amount and time?

                          .
It’s not any better in fact it is worse because CQ had been in Iran for 8 years and knew Iran’s football quite well. The problem is that the sports minister did not want CQs contract extended and wanted him out of Iran. For what ever reason.

That's exactly my point. Personal ego/feelings against CQ got in the way of the clearly intelligent choice (of resigning CQ).

he's a better investment for IFF ..... a less qualified coach that won't question them.
