He looks like he is trying too hard to get the goal, you can see how much he wants it.

I am out with my family but still keeping an eye on the score. Zenit have had 16 shots and Dzyuba has just come on.

besides a couple CL games, he has not looked too impressive this season.

Made up for his crappy game by creating a chance and giving the perfect assist to Dzyuba in the last second of the game.

Very good run past two defenders in the counter and a good assist as well to Dzyuba.

                    Amazing assist.

Azmoun was very active all game and causing trouble.
He just wasn't very clinical but I think that had a lot to do with the fact that he seems exhausted. Playing 3 full games in less than 7-8 days is really hard.
He had some great chances and 1 big miss.

Regardless, in the end he still found a way to contribute and he has done so almost every game of the season so far.

I watched most of the game. He didn't have a lot of chances, some will say it's because he didn't have the service, others will say his positioning and runs weren't good enough to fashion any chances. He was missing Dzyuba for most of the game until his little cameo.

                        His notable moments were:
                        - Toward the end of the first half he intercepted a pass around the half way line and tried to lob the keeper from distance. Good flight but the aim was a little off
                        - 83 mins when he should have scored after being passed the ball unmarked in the box. It looked like he couldn't move his feet quick enough
                        - 93 mins where he did all the hard work to take down a clearance, beat 2 men and square the ball past the last defender for Dzyuba to slot home

Otherwise, he was just snatching at a few other half chances in and around the box. He had a pot shot from about 35 yards out with the last attack of the 1st half which was never troubling the keeper. This sums up his desperation to score in this current cold streak he's in. Still, his link up play was solid throughout. The one thing he seems to be consistently able to produce. Pretty much a 6/10 game.

Cold streak? Before this match, he's scored in the last two RPL matches (vs Ural and vs Rostov)

Great run from within his own half in the 93rd minute. Shows good stamina and composure.

And before those two goals he hadn't scored in the league since July! One of those goals came in their biggest win of the season against a Rostov side even Ali Samereh would have scored against.

He's way off the pace of the rest of the forwards on the league. His xg suggests he should have double the amount of goals he has. These stats suggest he's less of a goal threat than he was when he joined Zenit in the second half of last season or in the first 5 games this season.

As I said, he's trying, his build up play is good but he's not in the best of form right now.

his assist was fantastic. Should have scored the first one. Some people who like to complain will keep saying he is in bad form. He is now on 8 goals and 5 assists in 17 games which is still a very solid return. His "dry spell" came in 3-4 match spell when zenit were at their worst and struggled to create.

He has still scored crucial goals against big opposition this season. And we now sardar is not lewandowski, he will miss chances like most other young forwards.
