Obviously not easy to replace CQ. I personally believe Esteghlal coach (Shafer I believe) is a good choice since he has WC experience and already familiar with up and downs our football. I have a feeling that IFF will consider him.

yes, and after getting shutout by CQ, the IFF mafia will make sure the next head coach is nothing but an escort service.Originally posted by Bandar Hamal View PostThe most important attribute for the next coach is bravery to push the IFF / Sports Ministry to make improvements.“It is easier to fool the people, than to convince them they have been fooled." - Mark Twain

Why would it be more difficult to hire a good coach now than in 2011 when you hired a coach of the caliber of CQ?
in 2011:
- we were fking disappointing in WC06, missed the last WC (2010) and were eliminated in QF of last asian cup. Now we participated to 2 WC back to back (2014 &2018) where we showed our quality in front of the world. We just eliminated in semi final of last asian cup.
- we had almost no legionnaire. Now we have much more legionnaire in Europe, and our U17 were quarter finalist of the last WC.
- I don't remember any friendlies in 2011 except crap like Kuwait and such. Recently we played against Turkey, Russia, Venezuela (x2), Tunisia, Algeria, Montenegro, Bolivia.
- AN was president, now we have Rouhani (which is better seen by the world than AN).
- we were under sanctions of the whole world : US, UE, UN. Now we are under US sanctions.
I reckon US imposing Visa for those that visited Iran can be a strong setback. But it seems a high profile like CQ could manage it.

Could not have said it better my self. We are at the same level as we were back in 2011 except that the economy has gone backwards even more and i think its much more difficult now to transfer money abroad. All in all it should be same difficult/easy to attract a good coach as it was in 2011. If they could do it back then why cant they do it now… Its all up to the people in chargeOriginally posted by PSGman#19 View PostWhy would it be more difficult to hire a good coach now than in 2011 when you hired a coach of the caliber of CQ?

- all the negative coverage of iran for AN & the nuclear BS for years (between 2005 and 2012). Comparing to some postive coverage about the country around the nuclear deal
- taj is also doing a decent work compared to before

Herve Renard has contract with Morocco until 2022. Although he is a good head coach but IMO we should get a coach with stronger resume. How about Paul Le Guen and Michael Laudrup? Will you be satisfied with either of them or not?Originally posted by Piroozi View PostI rather have someone like Herve Renard who will work hard than some big name who will give up after 6 months.
I do have some faith in Taj, he said he will be getting a good foreign coach, I believe he will keep his word. No Mayeli Gohan or 2007-2011 fiasco.
